I Live! for Sword of the Samurai.

When I first found GOG I was blown away. It was a site with no drm, a great community, and some of my favorite games of all time. All I had before this was Steam so the thought of a site where the gamer came first was completely mind boggling (and still is). When GOG unvieled regional pricing I was stunned. While it wouldnt affect me much, It did hurt my trust in the company. With GOGs sudden change of heart (which I actually learned through this giveaway) I may even be more amazed. A company thats willing to admit its mistakes and make changes for its community is amazing. GOG Is the best video game store out there, and it just may be the best company I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with.

As always generous beyond belief. +1 but not in :)

I love GOG, from the first moment she shot me that smoky hot gaze from across the internet tubes. I didn't believe it at first - I mean, me? I'm just a regular guy who came to the internet looking for a taste of 8-bit pixels and maybe a little 'extra-legal' nostalgia-job on the side, if you know what I mean. When I caught her looking, I turned my head, looking for the other guy... but it was true - she wanted me!

When I first approached, I thought she'd be like all the others, asking for favors in return for attention but GOG! My god, she gave up the goods practically before I could introduce myself, throwing freebies my way like they were nothing. I knew I had found something special. I started out small, but soon got carried away - Fallout, Dungeon Keeper, Baldurs Gate! I mean, she wanted me bad! For a while I didn't know which dungeon I was delving, if you get me, but I was beyond caring at that point.

Then she introduced me to her friends, Sachys, Thespian, IamSinistar and so many others, and all they wanted to do was give me special gifts - some wanted to talk, some were just happy when I dropped by... but I was flying high, binging on Hammerwatch and Kings Bounty until I was sore from all the grinding.

So that's the story of how I fell hard for GOG, and became a junkie for her digital attentions. She's a pretty nice gal, and always seems to have a new trick up her sleeve to keep me coming back.

I believe that GOG really is an example of business done right.
Sure, you can't go far if profit isn't taken into account, and this surely isn't a no profit organization, but there is a big difference between doing thing with only money on your mind and setting a goal and trying to reach it without straying from the path you chosen. We need more examples like this, in any field. +1 to GOG.

Also, a thanks to you too Sinistar :)
Not in, but thank you for the great giveaway!
Not in. +1 IAmSinistar

Please count me in for Summoner. :)

To me, GOG is all about trust. GOG trusts its customers to keep games for personal use only, and the customers trust GOG to make decisions in the best interest of the consumer. The past few weeks were interesting to see the community response to regional pricing, and I think it's important in life to stumble a bit before making strides. It's great to see GOG reaffirm their commitment to keeping prices fair as much as possible, while we all recognize that GOG's future does involve some degree of compromise.

On another note, I firmly believe that GOG has been a big part of the upswing of adventure games the past few years. By selling older titles like the Sierra adventures, Tex Murphy, and many others, I think that allowed people to discover these games and help bring adventures back into the discussion a bit around gaming communities.

For fun, this image is something I made during the holidays featuring the wonderfully diverse array of characters we have from the classics here on GOG. it's amazing how much gaming history there is on this site, and I am confident that one day we will add the likes of Guybrush Threepwood, Manny Calavera, Bernard Bernoulli, and others to that cast. ;)

Lastly, the attached image is how we can safely feel about GOG - a silent guardian, a watchful protector...

Thank you to IAmSinistar and the anonymous donors for the giveaway! :)

I Live!

In for Sword of the Samurai. Thanks.
I Live!

Please count me in for "Harvester", and thanks for the giveaway!
Not going to enter because me and my backlog are, for the most part, very happy together (although I get tempted and stray occasionally :P) but let me say thanks very much for your continued generosity.
Lordamercy, the donations keep flowing in! We have yet another contribution to add the pool, this time the atmospheric (bathyspheric?) Silent Service 1+2 games. Thanks aplenty to our third secret donor!

Given the growing list of games, I'm extending the giveaway to 48 hours from start so that folks have time to find their heart's desire (or at least their hard-drive's delight) among the offerings.
Not in, but thank you and +1!

In for Doomdark's Revenge, thanks IAmSinistar.

GOG has the best user library, both aesthetically and quality, and serves as a glimpse of the history of gaming, games old and newer proudly displayed together. Looking at my GOG library invariably gets me in the gaming mood ;)
Thanks for the generosity and the chance, IAmSinistar and donors.
1) Declare you are in with "I Live!"

3) Add something nice you have to say about GOG.
A picture is a thousand words, they say, so here’s one that relays what I’m stating below.

GOG is like a floating island where I can carefree swim in clear waters, rest on white sandy beaches, flirt with the sun, and listen to the breeze whispering to the palm trees.
Sometimes the breeze turns into a wind that wrinkles the waters and sends a few grains of sand into my eyes, but so far the calm always returns and makes up for the occasional thrills; and I smile gratified that GOG remains a haven in so many aspects.
