Anyone else watch them? Some of it was decent, but the majority felt like one long tease mixed in with advertising a-plenty, an awful band (I'm looking at you, All-American Rejects!), and people who were just there to get their check. Also, all of the teasers were embarrassingly short (especially the Brutal Legend one; weeks of waiting for news for a minute and a half? COME ON!) and the majority of awards were blown through in a minute, so they could make room for even more advertising and models who probably don't even know what an RPG is.They didn't even mention the PC! What a joke of an awards show.
Best part, by far, was Jack Black's opening (the whole Brutal Legend proceedings with Judas Priest were pretty funny, too).
I said it before, and I'll say it again: Award shows are all about auto-fellatio.

Indeed.
Which is sad because the few really deserving titles that do slip in get bashed along with the advertising glitz.
Is there anything around we would consider legitimate awards, as in, not decided by the advertisers and industry? Not including a purely 'internet poll/survey' of course.

They are good for something, alright. (now downloading - I am giggidy like a schoolgirl).
I only watched the bit where they introduced Tim Schafer...possibly the most awesome introduction ever.

Yeap, I agree with you on that one.
YAWN.
Did I miss those again?
Oh well...
