And counting. While I was at lunch Thursday Cloud Imperium games broke the 20 million barrier. Chris Roberts' invitation to AMD's GPU14 unveiling here in Hawaii rolled her over from the last remanants of the 19 million dollar tier.

It is a good time for space games and aquariums!

Jinsei really needs to create a consolidated Star Citizen thread.
980 000 000 more to GTAV! Go go Star Citizen!
I am following this with keen interest. Depenfing on how the single player part works out in the final version I am very tempted to get this. Though before I do I suspect I'd need to update my current rig.
Holy Moley! That's a lotta money.
interesting. *goes and reads up*
Exactly what I was going to post few moments ago. This is an example to how create a commitment community and send to f***k off those a**h***s publishers that stole IPs and destroy developers.
Passes $20,000,000.
Still no Mac nor Linux.
It uses DX11 with the Cry Engine. Unless and until Crytek support Linux out of the box, Star Citizen can't run on Linux. Regarding Apple, not sure how that's going to work.

Regarding updating your rig. You're safe for a bit I think.

I currently run these specs:

ASUS Crosshair IV Formula motherboard
12 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM (not overclocked)
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4ghz (not overclocked0
XFX Radeon HD 7870 CORE 2 GB graphics card (not overclocked to 7950)

I get about 60 FPS pers second in the Hangar Module with max settings enabled at 1920x1090.
The Module doesn't use anywhere near 4 GB of memory so far or too much CPU at the moment. The GPU is doing most of the work.

Perhaps it could run on medium settings on my current rig. I just finished Crysis 2 and got pretty good framerate on it. Though I do think when SC comes out I've already invested on a new graphics card.
It really is time for the first major kickstarter success to be released. I only see different hypes (Star Citizen, Torment, Project Eternity) and still no games.

Shadowrun Returns made 1.8+ mil and put out a pretty solid game. Not earth-shattering, but a good solid base-game with room for expansion.

FTL made only 200k but spat out an awesome game.

Banner Saga made 700k and is actively in beta. Granted it's only a sub portion being tested but at least people can see it.

I'm sure there are others that have completed development and are available for purchase, I just haven't been following them too closely (I think Sir, You Are Being Hunted was a KSed game but I can't remember what it made. And I'm too lazy to look it up. :P )

I agree though. Definitely looking forward to what these heavy hitters actually produce.

I know, it just makes me sad. I guess I'll have to rely on Limit Theory to fill my space game void.
