See? It is an online football! But now I'm starting to feel like I'm missing out since I dislike football. Oh well, I'll have to learn to live with it somehow.

Liberty: No matter how we justify it, these are video games which are wastes of time. Entertaining wastes of time, yes, but not a replacement for something like a job or a career.
Dude, what are you doing wasting your time on discussion boards, discussing games? You might have wasted like an hour reading and thinking trough your argument! You should go and help children in africa, and the proceed to develop a new power source!

Oh man... I feel SANE again ^^ ! Thank you kindly for that, I was beginning to think it was once again a case of "non-philosophers won't ever understand". Apparently - this is not beyond human comprehension.
Also - one could:
play a little racquetball...
Or wash his car.
Or cook dinner.
Or join a funk band.
Or travel to a foreign country.
Or run for president.
Or lube his car.
Or host a weenie roast.
Or dig for buried treasure.
Or milk a cow.
Or have a yelling contest with his neighbors dog.
Or perform brain surgery.
Or paint a yellow line in the center of his driveway.
Or write his name in the snow.
Or teach basket weaving to clams.
Or sing Welsh folk songs at the bank.
Or plant trees on public property.
Or make a triangular table.
Or hop, skip, and jump.
Or ride a train.
Or organize his sock drawer alphabetically.
Or go bowling with his mom.
Or train potato bugs to do tricks.
Or make a quilt.
Or publish a magazine about pencil shavings.
Or eat lime jello with pineapple in it.
Or pave a freeway.
Or learn to draw.
Or take up photography.
Or learn to tell time.
Or photocopy money.
Or go out for pasta.
Or sew a dress.
Or bathe his iguana.
Or go fishing.
Or paint a strangers house in the middle of the night.
Or take up windsurfing.
Or change his hair style.
Or sharpen his whiteboard markers.
Or feed a toucan.
Or enjoy the sun.
Or do a crossword puzzle.
Or buy some cool clothes.
Or go to the beach.
Or play croquet with his dad.
Or water his plants.
Or build a doll house.
Or invite some friends over for salmon and white wine.

I have to admit - I haven't laughed as hard in a long while xD. Thanks for your post-modern post.

EDIT: next time I need an analogy for a difficult task, I'm totally using "training potato bugs to do brain surgery" :>.

Liberty: And it looks like Starcraft 2 won't reach the heights of popularity in South Korea as Starcraft 1 did.
avatar
Elenarie: It already did, and passed it. The last official tournament in Brood War ended a few weeks ago (or will end in a few weeks, can't think of the date now). All other organizations have already switched to SC2.
I don't live in South Korea so I cannot say anything on what is popular there or not. However, I am reading things from people that do live there that say Starcraft 2 failed. Take a look at this Team Liquid thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=366126 Someone there said that Brood War was in the top ten games of games played in South Korea for years. Starcraft 2 only cracked the top ten list for one month.

Maybe as time goes on, it will become more popular. Who knows?

I'm glad you have some background knowledge when it comes to Starcraft and Blizzard games in general, though there's no point in dragging this discussion on, for the simple reason that we're not really... speaking the same language.
You fail to understand the meaning and intention of my arguments and respond with statements that neither move me emotionally (the way, I assume, you expected them to work on a "normal human being") nor convince me intellectually.
Suit yourself. I thought I was talking to a "normal human being". You're not a martian, are you?

An hour? It only took a few minutes.
