I wonder if the gog.com is thinking about collaboration with steam? I mean the newer games like Flatout, The Witcher etc. The games would be enable from Steam library and you may add them with the number key (as you could see it in humble bundle packages). You can also reach achievements. I really miss this functions on this awesome website.

Well, if this topic had been already added here, apologize me. also apologize my english.
You know... I wonder if Christians are thinking about collaboration with Muslims ;).
Very different philosophies and audiences.

I'd dare to disagree on this.
There certainly is a partial match of sets, as shown by the various Steam IDs, game exchanges and discussions of games only available through Steam on this forum.
It might not be the majority, but it seems like a considerable amount at least.

From a customer point of view, I'd love it, since I do use Steam and the automated updating of games is kind of neat for a lazy person like myself and since the use of Steam would be optional, I'd still have the possibility of getting/storing the full DRM free game regardless.

From a company point of view, I can understand why neither Steam nor GoG would be happy to do something like that. Added overhead for little to no generated revenue means that while their philosophies might differ at some points, they likely agree on that one being a bad business decision :p
No way !
Horrible. You could pipe dream some way that this could work and GOG doesn't lose its soul but it wouldn't happen.

There's your angle, DIY achievements threads for every game!

"I actually properly died" in Planescape Torment
"Destroyed the Sathanas" in Freespace 2
"Cracked one off to the cover art" in Bloodrayne
Honestly , f..k the Steam achievements . They are useless.

edit:
Do you want your games censored ? ( german version )
Do you want DRM ?
Do you want the f...ng $1=1€ ?
