Is it just me or there a serious lack of the high flying action adventure sword fighting games. I've thought about it for a while and the only game I can think of that fits the bill is the Prince of Persia series (of which I have the entire series, sans 3d and Forgotten Sands).
Are there any other (good) games out there that are in the same vein as movies and/or books like PotC, The Mummy, The Three Musketeers, Indiana Jones, etc.
I know swashbuckling might not be the best term for some of those movies but I couldn't think of a better one. Anyways are there any other games that attempt to capture the feeling of those movies?

Yeah I personally also have hard time finding something in the same vein as the PoP series.
But maybe you might also be interested in those:
Assassin's Creed - sword fight and melee combat is quite fun.
Jedi Knight Series - maybe a weird choice but hey you can use lightsabers, the force and some great acrobatics.
Garshasp - looks interesting, promising. Similar to PoP but ´still in development.
I didn't play it but Mount & Blade is said to have some great sword combat too.

Thanks for the reply, I have not played Assassin's Creed, I might look into that. Jedi Knight, I have already played, great fun nonetheless. Lastly that Garshasp game looks very interesting, I'm off to learn more about it, hopefully it will turn out good. If nothing else it looks interesting
As for Mount and Blade I cannot figure out what kind of game it is supposed to be. Action? Strategy? RPG? Some hybrid of the 3? Can someone fill me in on what the game is?
Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast is a good call. It goes third person when you're holding a lightsaber and you can run along walls and flip over storm troopers. Pretty swashbuckling

the combat is generally more realistic than other fighting games. it's entertaining for sure, but not so much like a high-flying action movie

Not exactly what you are looking for me thinks but . . . once I got used to it . . . I enjoyed the sword play in The Witcher.

you should try out Die by the sword here on GOG it's not very acrobatic and many complain about bad controls, but the swordplay is really awesome.
You might also consider Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, it's first person only though and has RPG elements. The sword, blade fight can be weird at times but one can get used to it. Although you may be inclined to go off on a "kick rampage"... those who played it know what I'm getting at.
thanks for the replies, everyone.
The Witcher: I own and love.
Die by the Sword: definitely looks interesting, but not quite what I'm looking for. I might check it out later.
Dark Messiah: Looks to be the closest to what I'm looking for that I haven't already played. I'm going to look into that further.
Thanks all.
The still-in-development Deathspank might be of interest.
Also, look out for Severance: Blade of Darkness, if you ever come across it.

Speaking of Severance, they should remake the game using the Arkham Asylum combat system, with added flexibility. I'd sell 10% of my soul for that.

That's not how it works, either the full deal or nothing.
