Mine changes every 15 minutes. I have it cycle through everything in My Pictures.

bladeofBG: Juss a thing I wanted to ponder on, and it's obviously a personal judgement call everyone has to make for themselves. I'm juss one of those ppl who think about the FBI, CIA, secret societies and semi-secret societies collecting all sorts of data on people, to use & twist to their own ends. :o)
I'd love to know what kind of data they can gather from my desktop. That I like dinosaurs, probably.

GameRager: I'm afraid to post mine......it might not go off so well here. 0.o

Also I never got minmalist(or at least ULTRA minimalist) desktops....sin't the whole PURPOSE os a desktop to be filled with icons to make programs easier to access? I mean not alot but not just 2 or 3 icons.
I have everything I want to run accessible by either win+R and typing it in, or in my taskbar (though I almost never click, always use win+number). The purpose of my desktop is to be covered by the windows I'm using. Would be annoying if there were icons I needed on there (and thus I have gotten used to quickly accessing everything without needing anything on the desktop).

Same here, except I use grey as background colour - no wallpaper. Also I didn't removed the paperbin yet, did that with WinXP but Win7 is too fresh at the moment and I don't want to chance too much in the registry. With some practice it's easier and faster to control your system by shortcuts and it's also better to keep strict discipline to save all the documents directly in the correct folder. Also I only have 2-3 games at once installed, so no problem to remember the game names ;-)

Edit: Ah, forgot to mention that the taskbar is also hided to have maximum space for my applications. In lazy moments ,when the keyboard is a little bit far away, I use sometimes the taskbar, but normally you can really do everything using the keyboard.
