i don't know how to do that as I don't play the game - I am just trying to help a fellow GOGer here - can u enlighten me please - and thanks for helping :)

If purple hat = Unusual hat then he might as well give up, has nothing to do with playing the game normally, you need keys for that, which are purchased, and even then it takes extreme luck with unboxing.

But yeah, "purple hats" gets people to see dollar signs so I can understand why he wants it :)

Edit: On second readthrough I guess he might be hoping to find someone to give it to him, which is a bit dubious if he's aware what a 'purple hat' is worth. Among traders that's called 'sharking', finding people with little to no knowledge of trade values and obtaining their valuable items without letting them know what they are actually worth.

Nothing of particularly high value I think. Not sure what the vintage hats are going for these days though. Might be able to pull off a cheap game or so if you bother trading it.

Here's a spreadsheet giving rough value per item (not always agreed on by traders but it gives an idea). A key is ~$1.15- $1.20 atm I think

"purple hats", or Unusual hats used to go from anywhere between $15 to several thousand dollars (extreme rare high end), most are between the $15 - $200 range or something probably though. But you can see why people like "purple" hats ;)

I even dont play TF2... How many people did you owned to get so much keys and hats and purple items? Im 100% sure you are not getting lots of benefits trading with people to get all that together :)

Certainly not by scamming/sharking people, but several years of buying keys and trading games that are favorable in my currency, but feel free to keep the baseless accusations coming, I have a good and honest TF2 rep.

Me on the other hand didn't say you were a shark, I just said it was considered sharking behaviour "if" you were aware of the value and didn't tell the person you get items from about it. Either way it seems that information seems to have touched a nerve there.
