It's pretty cool. It's an online multiplayer game that has one person as the commander and the others as different classes of units that actually do battle. It's a bit closer to a shooter than anything else (despite having melee options) for those that aren't commanding and the second one has a limited free mode, as well, but I had a lot more fun with the first one.

Now those are bundles I can get behind! ;)

Some of these games may be worth checking out. Battle for Wesnoth is definitely one of the best free games out there. Kind of high profile as far as free ones go, so I'm surprised it's even in one of those.

The save system was wonky the last time I played, if I didn't close out of the app the right way, I couldn't resume progress.

It appears that Savage XR is free anyway, so no need to sign up on the bundle site if this game is all you want.

The PC version has the same problem. You have to close the game without going back to the main menu, otherwise the progress (except for the gold) won't be saved.

But it's reall a very nice game even if it has some flaws (e.g. a well-equipped vampire is totally overpowered).

Erm, what do you mean? _All_ games in _all_ of the 9 bundles are free (and have been free before), that's why they were selected for the bundle. And you actually don't need to "sign up" for the bundle in any way. Effectively, the "Free Bundle" is just a semi-regular showcase for a bunch of free games every couple of weeks.
