Gamersgate is having a sale on The Witcher for $7.98.

Can someone tell me though what type of DRM it carries. It says on GG that the DRM is, "DRM Other."

The DRM was removed in a patch, so in theory it shouldn't have any, except the usual GamersGate one-time activation thing.
Note that it's a fidelity offer so the amount of the sale will depend on your status there.
Also, for game sales, see: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/gaming_deals_thread/_/last

I did not know it was based on your status at GG. How can you tell that is so?
Also, what do you mean about the "on-time activation thing"?
I always download my games and then when the install menu pops up, I do not install. Instead simply copy or rename your download. Then cancel the install and then you can install and reinstall anytime you wish without having to be connected to GG.
At least this is what I believe is taking place when I do this. I believe I have unplugged my internet service and reinstalled software from GG to check (hard to recall as it has been a while).

From the email: Segmented loyalty offers until June 6:
The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut - 50-80% discount depending on your member status
Also, the banners on the side of the page advertising discounts for loyalty discounts will say from x% to y%.
Also, the product page will state "Your Price" instead of "Price" next to the red pricing.
As for the DRM, it was most certainly patched out. Not sure why it states "Other DRM" but you can always ask their support or better yet (as it can be faster) ask them over Twitter.

I got an email about The Witcher EE being this week's loyalty sale, that's how I can tell .
The "one-time activation thing" is what you're avoiding by copying the installer. If you don't copy it, you would have to be connected tot he Internet every time you want to install the game.
It's easy enough to work around but most people don't know about it, and even their supposedly DRM-free games have that limitation, not that matters much to me.

It was Tages DRM but, as mentioned above, it was removed with the 1.5 patch.
I wanted to avoid the 9 GB download (varies) so I purchased The Witcher Enhanced Edition from Amazon for $19 a few months ago. Got 5 disks, paper manual, DVD case and a map. Downloaded and installed the 1.5 patch, Directors Cut patch and the Uncensored patch. Works great with no need to register and without DRM.

Thanks guys for the info about the status sale. I do not receive any mails from GG, and I have FireFox set to block most things on the pages I visit so I never saw any of what you all mentioned.
Thanks for the heads up.
EDIT: I think it is nice that you can get greater discounts simply for having been a customer. I am closing in on the 70% off mark.
GG has some great sales, and I rarely buy anything over $10.00. In fact most stuff is $6.00 and under.
I simply click I want to be notified if certain items have a price drop.
I also like the fact you gain "coins" toward future purchases every time you buy a game. Thus far I got one game free and I have $7.00 saved presently.
Finally, I like that they are starting to mark games as DRM Free, since this is the only type of game I buy from them.
