hmm, so I got to the end of the demo and there was this really convenient "buy me" button so now I own the full game... no rush with its release on GOG now I guess :) but it will be great of course to have it here!

cw8: I saw it in the Runic forums, and they're saying that Runic does not want to release it on GoG at launch since they're afraid of piracy because of the DRM-free but they stated they have interest in bringing it over here in time. Anyway:

Didn't really work, Saw that it's already on Most Torrent sites already cracked. I'm waiting till I finish TL1 first and until they have it DRM-Free before I buy it

what exactly is the DRM on T2? when I bought the full game I only got a serial key and with it I turned the demo into the full version... there's a launcher checking for patches online, but...
We want this game on GOG.

Actually aside from requiring a licence key and a Runic Account to gain access to the online multiplayer, there's no DRM in the Perfect World version of Torchlight 2 to the best of my knowledge. Hence, pirates don't have to try particularly hard to get an offline and LANable copy.

The PWE version has an activation key, so it's safe to say that there's some sort of DRM there.
well, serial number is a DRM I can live with :)

plus it's really better to just turn a demo into full game then having to download the whole game again! and I don't play that much multi (in RPGs anyway, go tanks!) so I'm completely fine... (as long as I don't lose the serial ;)

You can test it yourself. Install the demo (from the same installation file you used on your current PC) into another PC which doesn't have an internet connection (just to make sure it will not try to connect to any authentication servers), and then enter that same code.

Does it turn the demo into a full game in that other PC too, without connecting to internet/authentication servers? Congratulations, at least the single-player part is apparently DRM-free.

If not, it is not.

too bad I don't have another computer to try this out, might be interesting... ;)

Fesin: They just have terrible payment options on their own site
Yep, agree. That’s why in the end I bought the game via Perfect World. I still had to create another account but could at least simply pay with my credit card.

Still, it would be great to see this game getting released on GOG.com too.

From what I've gathered I think the activations are limited to 10. Haven't read anything official on this though.

Fantastic: I think this game won't be released on GOG.com, at least not in the near future. According to seattleandrew's post to the Torchlight II's page on the wishlist, it won't appear here soon:

"I spoke with the guys at Runic Games during PAX about Torchlight 2 coming to GOG.com. Although their answer is understandable, it's still a little disappointing. They basically said that they're too afraid of piracy to release Torchlight 2 on GOG.com immediately. In the future they'll look to releasing it on GOG, but they said that'd be a year to two after the release on steam.[...]"

I also hoped this game will be avaible on GOG.com, but it looks like it may only happen later.

orcishgamer: I didn't hear that from them at PAX despite speaking to the same people. They released a DRM free copy of TL within 3 months (the boxed copy), I think it's safe to say they'll be okay with it. I'll bet their sales have been through the roof so I'd expect DRM free within the same 3 month period this time. Again, they have issues maintaining/patching so many extra executables, and DRM free isn't one they support just now (Steam being much more important to support for launch, and their own store).

Fantastic:
I would hope you are right and that's not their thinking. After a year or two the piracy cat would have been long out of the bag and clawing up their furniture. GoG or no GoG.
