Oddly enough I was just at Gamestop today, and they had a boxed copy of Torchlight for $20. It was just one of those crappy cardboard boxes that fall apart and not the nice DVD cases everything comes in these days.
But other than that, Gamestop's PC selection sucks. Xbox, PS3, and Wii each had their own wall, and PC had a tiny rack in the middle of the shop that was only up to my chest in height. And it was only slightly wider than my body.

That sounds about right. The Gamestop here closest to my house has literally 7 PC games.

A real box!? Awesome! I hate those crappy DVD cases. Hope they retain that idea whenever it gets released here in physical format... which should be the beginning of next month apparently, game.co.uk says April 9 (game.se doesn't have it at all yet, haven't asked in the physical store they have here), and a popular Swedish online store (webhallen.com) says April 1.

That was the only way they could get retailers to sell the game. However, a quick visit to, and search of the Runic forums will lead to the required files and instructions on how to add that pet to the digital versions.

I'll probably get it if it comes in a nice, huge box. I'm a sucker for those things.

The boxed version is DRM-free. Runic explained the reasons why the digital version has DRM and the boxed one does not in some interview last year. Other than that, there is nothing special about that box -- the only thing inside is the disc in paper sleeve. I miss "collector's" editions.

So I've finally purchased it.
Entertaining so far, I'm curious when it will start to bore me.

I haven't played Titan Quest at all, but the only way I feel I can accurately describe Torchlight is "Diablo 1 in 3D".

I have a question.
I saw TL on disk in the store the other day and wondered if the disk copy has any form of DRM on it?
Thanks

I bought it for $5 from Runic - so far, I like it. I agree it's a lot like Diablo.

I thought it was more of the same, but I'm going to continue on with the demo and see if my impressions will get better. I haven't been completely bored yet...yet...
