As you may or may not know the cult classic X-COM was in fact inspired by an old Gerry Anderson TV show unsurprisingly called UFO. It was unusual in that it used live action as opposed to the SuperMarionation puppets seen in Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlett. UFO the movie has been announced and here is the teaser image on Fanderson
It's a little out of date as since that went up Gerry Anderson has been confirmed as executive producer, unlike Thunderbirds where he had no involvement. Joshua Jackson (Fringe) and Ali Larter (HEROES) are cast so far. UFO fans rejoice.
If you never saw the original here is the intro

NOT THE GAME. IT'S NOT BASED ON THE GAME.
I'll look for it, thanks Delixe.
Another clearer video of the TV series with a gloriously remastered soundtrack here
AWESOME!
UFO the TV series is pure cheezy goodness. So silly. So awesome. :)
I haz the boxsets! and the semi-spin-off/rewritten second series became "Space:1999"!
