I'd be listening to the Bioshock 2 OST on vinyl if I had a player here.
Now Manfred Manns Earthband - Watch. Shame that many people i know don't know what an LP is.

I've got a closet stuffed full of lp's, and I tend to always dig through them at yard sales, even buying stuff I know I'll never listen to.

I'm glad a lot of companies are still putting out new vinyl, you just won't find it in the average store.
Ah, ye gods, that's awesome. I wish I could get my hands on my old LPs. I have several hundred in storage on the opposite coast. Might have to get my brother to dig them up and send them out to me, even though the cost would be frightening.

I'd likely be listening to the Bioshock 1 OST on vinyl, that came in my Bioshock 2 CE box. No, neither the 1 or 2 are typos, I got the first game's OST on vinyl and the second's on CD.

Oh, so it's the OST from Bioshock 1? This explains why the tracklisting is completely different for the CD and the vinyl record. >.<
(haven't had a single chance to listen to the record yet)

Great album! 'Living Wreck' has the craziest organ sound I've ever heard!
Unfortunately I haven't found a replacement stylus for my record player yet, so I haven't listened to any vinyl lately.
But it's going to play Moody Blues as soon as the stylus is replaced.
A few weeks ago I was thinking about how kids these days are pretty close to not knowing what CDs are, forget about casettes and VHS tapes. And I don't want my kids to be ignorant about things that have come and gone. So I started a record collection with my 2 sons (ages 5 & 7). And they're all into it. They like looking at the sleeves, putting the needle on etc...

And other day they were watching the Flintstones, and someone turned on the 'bird-record player', and my son said, "oh, the beak is the needle." I like that he has a context for these things now.

+ 1 for being a cool dad :)
Listening to vinyl records was one of my favorite things to do with my dad, it made the toy guitar I had way more fun to play with :p

Thanks!

And I don't know about the inspiration for your name, but Wish You Were Here was the first album they got, one of their favorites :-)

Neither have I, but yes, it is, though some tracks differ from the downloadable one (there are tracks in both that are not present in the other).

Oh, just wanted to listen to WYWH, but suddenly it skipped. what a shame
On my "Really need to get off my ass and do this stuff one of these days" list is: connect turntable and play some vinyl. Have maybe 80 - 100 albums sitting in the basement, inside plastic sleeves so the covers stay in nice shape, and an old Technics SL1200 Mk2 turntable.

Been so long since I've looked at that stuff, can hardly remember what albums I own. Pretty sure I have Moving Pictures, Caress of Steel, and Fly By Night, but those are the only ones that come to mind. Oh, and I remember buying Joshua Tree the day it came out - that must have been 1986 or '87. Might be fun, in a nostalgic way, to hook it up this weekend and spin some platters.
