stonebro: Sounds like a pretty clear-cut bug to me.
I agree but . . . one trollish post is not enough for me. As I hear further confirmations that it is indeed a bug . . . I will howl loudly as well.

I was reading on the Witcher forums that there is a patch nearly ready for release so it may already be addressed . . . if it even exists . . . =)

Edit : Patch nearly ready info was found here

Oddeyedl: When you do the hung over quest after you wake up on the beach when rudy the fisherman comes up to you you need to bribe or intimidate him to get info on your missing gear a failed bribe and intimidate check causes the options to dissapear and you to be permantly stuck with no gear, forcing you to re load an earlier save, I unistalled this buggy piece of garbage after that one... sorry cd red you lose bad on this one. Heres some new words for you " Play Testers..." try them in your company sometime and they discover glitches like this that cause ppl to flee from the tripe you put out and call "video games"

dr.zli: I see no reason why would you get your gear after you fail every skill check so that's a valid game design, not a game breaking bug. I suggest DA2 to you, easy, linear story that plays itself so you can sit back and relax ;)
Oh come on! Are you for real?? like Im totally ok with penalties for failing (ie the price of the bribe doubles or something like that) but to confiscate all my gear for failing a social check?? You know what else would be awsome? if you randomly got colds or viruses and you had to do quests to cure your ailments... or if you stubbed your toe once in a while and got negative 2 to dex for the day... you know to add reality to the game because thats what we all want right?? Hunger and thirst meters and the like...... get real brah
I like real, in fact I play all my games on superhuman with mods that add to difficulty. Of course, it's just the way I roll, you might want to play it casual. For me, losing all the gear is nothing serious, I haven't seen a game (after half life) that didn't take all your gear at one moment in the game so it's perfectly normal for me. And even if they took it all from me it's just virtual stuff and no reason for ragequit and uninstall of said game :D my 2 cents

I didnt actually uninstall the game, i did rage tho. Im enjoying the game now that i got past that stinky part... Im playing on hard too so..

Question for you tho if your such a hardcore gamer are you playing Witcher 2 on insane?
Frankly, people, can't you recognize a troll (or a bad prank not sure which) when you see one?

There is no "hung over" quest in TW 2, nor is there an NPC called "Rudy the fisherman"(that alone should be enough of a clue imo).
Furthermore, persuasion, intimidation and mind control (the three ways to convince people in the game) are not actual skills. If they fail, it's only when the story dictates they should (like trying mind control against a sorcerer).

*** SPOILER ***

In Chapter 1, go to the garrison and talk with soldiers - you will have an option to get drunk with them. After that you wake up naked next to the river and you are approached by NPC.

*** END OF SPOILER ***
