Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, and Thief series and more from Square Enix 60% off.

Here comes the GOG.com [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_28_09_12/]Square Enix Squad! A gallery of characters that shine a bright light in the history of gaming. The beautiful tomb raiding daredevil Lara Croft, the cyborg savior of humanity JC Denton, the king of stealth and thievery Garrett, and the mysterious archmaster of assassination known only as the Agent 47. This amazing ensemble of badasses is here for one reason only: all of their respective games in our catalogue are now discounted by 60% along with many other Square Enix titles until Tuesday, October 2 at 03:59 AM GMT.

Witness the first steps of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 1+2+3, a bundle that contains the first three games that made her a superstar. Then witness her more obscure, but even more dangerous adventures and witness her younger years in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation & Chronicles. Finally, follow Lara as she tackles a mysterious cult in Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Be sure not to miss all the action-adventure girl-power goodness!

Dare to venture into the dark dystopian future of Deus Ex and become JC Denton, the hardcore cybernetically enhanced peacekeeper that started to doubt his superior's agenda and stood up to the conspiracy. Then decide the fate of his successor, Alex D, the hero of Deus Ex 2: Invisible War. If you are a cyberpunk fan, a RPG aficionado, or if you simply want to try a different and challenging FPS, make yourself acquainted with the Deus Ex series.

Not all of the Square Enix Squad members enjoy the publicity. Some of them prefer to keep a low profile. Especially Garrett, the master-thief who sneaked into the promo through an unlocked skylight. Many gamers consider his adventures to be the pinnacle of stealth games and its first iteration, adequately titled Thief GOLD, an origin of a whole genre. The GOLD edition contains the original Thief: The Dark Project and an update that enhances the game with three new campaign missions and new enemy types. While you lurk around GOG.com treasury with Garret, be sure to also grab your copies of Thief GOLD and Thief 2: The Metal Age and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows. At $3.99 each, it's really a steal!

Ubivis: A Publisher I don't have any titles on GOG yet... but I think I will not take any this time as well... backlog is too huge (might pick up one or 2 titles next time, these are on promo)
/me saps poor unsuspecting Ubivis, picks up his body and carries him to the special "dunking" tub in the GOG basement...(think Lord Bafford's manor >:) )

To dunk or not to dunk?

I am Polish and finding creative ways around problems is one of our racial abilities (if we were a race in a D&D-like system :D)

ktchong: How's Anachronox? Why is it getting such a good rating? I remember playing it for awhile and was unimpressed. (I hated Final Fantasy 7, especially its combat system.)
Ah! Anachronox... this game is really something else. Yes, its battle system resembles the one used in jRPGs to some extent, but it's really polished, well designed, and contains some original ideas. But even if you're not a fan of jRPG-style combat the game is worth seeing just for the wonderful sci-fi setting, intriguing story, and an incredible cast of brilliant characters. It's quite a memorable experience for me. You might not want to take my word for it, as I'm actually getting paid for gamemongering, but I'm sure there are other GOG.com users who will support my recommendation.

Should this be October 2nd?
Of course it should. And believe me: I've corrected this apparent mistake hours ago. Yet somehow the site keeps reverting to the incorrect version. The goddamn code gremlins are particularly mean to us today. Maybe we should start feeding them with irrelevant forum posts, to keep them at bay? :-)
