Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, and Thief series and more from Square Enix 60% off.

Here comes the GOG.com [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/square_enix_weekend_promo_28_09_12/]Square Enix Squad! A gallery of characters that shine a bright light in the history of gaming. The beautiful tomb raiding daredevil Lara Croft, the cyborg savior of humanity JC Denton, the king of stealth and thievery Garrett, and the mysterious archmaster of assassination known only as the Agent 47. This amazing ensemble of badasses is here for one reason only: all of their respective games in our catalogue are now discounted by 60% along with many other Square Enix titles until Tuesday, October 2 at 03:59 AM GMT.

Witness the first steps of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 1+2+3, a bundle that contains the first three games that made her a superstar. Then witness her more obscure, but even more dangerous adventures and witness her younger years in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation & Chronicles. Finally, follow Lara as she tackles a mysterious cult in Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Be sure not to miss all the action-adventure girl-power goodness!

Dare to venture into the dark dystopian future of Deus Ex and become JC Denton, the hardcore cybernetically enhanced peacekeeper that started to doubt his superior's agenda and stood up to the conspiracy. Then decide the fate of his successor, Alex D, the hero of Deus Ex 2: Invisible War. If you are a cyberpunk fan, a RPG aficionado, or if you simply want to try a different and challenging FPS, make yourself acquainted with the Deus Ex series.

Not all of the Square Enix Squad members enjoy the publicity. Some of them prefer to keep a low profile. Especially Garrett, the master-thief who sneaked into the promo through an unlocked skylight. Many gamers consider his adventures to be the pinnacle of stealth games and its first iteration, adequately titled Thief GOLD, an origin of a whole genre. The GOLD edition contains the original Thief: The Dark Project and an update that enhances the game with three new campaign missions and new enemy types. While you lurk around GOG.com treasury with Garret, be sure to also grab your copies of Thief GOLD and Thief 2: The Metal Age and Thief 3: The Deadly Shadows. At $3.99 each, it's really a steal!

Head out to the promo page and check out all 16 of the great Square Enix games you can get 60% off until Tuesday, October 2 at 03:59 AM GMT.

retro_gamer: LOL, what a farse SQUARE-ENIX promo and none of these games are made by SQUARESOFT or ENIX. :)))
Every one of these games was published by Eidos. Since Sqeenix now owns Eidos, these are technically Squeenix games.

Tarhiel: Don´t forget to mention the most disturbing series of levels in the Thief 3 - The Shalebridge Cradle. I´ve still got goosebumps remembering playing that one on 3.AM in the morning ;)
Ah, the Cradle! I've never played anything that made me so jumpy LONG BEFORE I ENCOUNTERED A SINGLE ENEMY.
I know. I just hate ENIX so much.
It's been a while since a GOG promo got me interested. I got Hitman 1 and 2 and Deus Ex 1 and 2. I never played the original Deus Ex games, but Human Revolution was really good so I want to give them a try.
Got the 3 legacy of kain games :)

HeDanny: Seems GOG does not have The next 2 Hitman games or Pandemonium 2 in their catalog. Yet? Hope they eventually pop up.
I presume Hitman 3 (aka Hitman: Contracts) will probably not appear in GOG, because for some reason it is missing also from other digital stores (Steam, GamersGate), even though all the other installments are there. Some IP rights issue with the third one?

The retail Hitman collection I bought like a year ago (including the first four Hitman games) includes it, though. But I also want DRM-free (no-CD) digital versions of those of them I can, hence I now bought Hitman 1-2 from GOG too.

I just realised that that I own none of these games. Too bad I'm flat broke. I do own a couple of these games on CD-Rom.
If you could own only one Soul reaver/LOK and one Thief which one would it be?

I'd say Soul Reaver, but that's because it's action/platformer, rather than annoying stealth like in Thief. And yes, i've played both.

Whichever suits your gaming style.

Thanks I loved the Soul Reavers back in the day so I plan to get them all eventually but I was wondering what Thief to get that speaks for the whole series( I only want to get one to see if I will like it)
Picked up both Deus Ex games. Thanks, GOG.
Got the Deus Ex and Hitman games, plus Thief 3... not sure why because I own them on Steam, but fuck it.

Definitely either Thief 1 or 2. I preferred Thief 1, as I liked both the story and missions better. Most of your opponents were of the natural or undead type, whereas Thief 2 introduces a lot of mechnical sentries and guards. Disabling a mechnical alarm just never felt as good as knocking out a guard to me. I do know that some people prefer Thief 2, however, because it has a lot less zombies (which some don't like). It's really a matter of personal taste.

You can not go wrong with either Thief 1 or 2. A great many people, including myself, regard these 2 games as the best PC games they have ever played.

Edit: Also note that there is a story continuation from one game to the the next, with some reoccuring characters, so that's another reason to start with Thief 1.

BananaJane: But Enix hasn't published any games for PC since 1993

kodeen: Square and Enix merged a long time ago. The company is called SquareEnix. They also own Eidos so Eidos games are also now published by SquareEnix. I assure you the promo name is accurate.
Yeah but they didn't publish them back then
None of those games are even japanese!

If you liked Deus Ex: HR, then you owe it to yourself to play first Deus EX, second one suffered from heavy consolithridis - simplified to the point it wasn´t Deus Ex any more. Glad they learned their lesson at EM with DE:HR.
