Hey - driving a car takes some skill ;P !

Driving while drunk is illegal ;P !
BTW - drunk guys on bikes might be less dangerous, but they sure make for some hilarious stories... Like all those guys @ 5 or 6‰ who crash into a car and flee the scene, because they're basically too drunk to realize they are (or, at least, SHOULD be) dead :P.

Nope. I never said that law has anything to do with morality.
I KNOW, I've seen the map I linked you. Most western states are marked "18", though.

Just check the damn map. It is. It's 14 in Germany. It's even as low as 13 in Spain. The point is - it's mostly 15 or 14. In the USA - it's mostly 18 or 17.

Checked the Big Apple - it's 17. I knew for a while that California has it @ 18...

For whose convenience sake ? The lawyers' ? That doesn't make it any less pointless !

Yet - there is a law there that states otherwise. THIS is what I consider wrong.
You should never have laws that are not enforced, neither those that don't make any sense.
And if the parents don't like their daughter's boyfriend they might call the cops on him. I've heard of such things, although - to be honest - I have no idea how often does this really happen.
I simply know that when anyone asks a suspiciously young camwhore about her age, the chat is usually flooded with "18" and "I heard 18" ;P. Came through my mind, so I made a slightly offtopic remark on it.
