FantasyNightmare: EVE
True, although some would argue about it being a "simulation".
How does Capitalism plus compare with Capitalism 2?
Excel: The Game.

It's one of the rare games where you earn IRL cash. The downside is you're obligated to play even when you don't want to, usually for 8 hour stretches at a time.
Is your definition of "business simulation" broad enough to encompass more wacky, managerial type games? If it is, Startopia and Theme Hospital are two good ones. The Tropico series is also pretty good.
Capitalism Plus for sure. Grab the sequel and thr Corporate Machine by Stardock as well.
So the new Capitalism Lab need persistent internet connection an online account despite being single-player only? That's a bummer, the game already great. In fact, i don't even think it should be classified as a video game.

edit: you can check it from their official site's FAQ.

So if you were to get just one business sim game would it be Capitalisms Plus, Capitalisms 2, Corporate Machine or some another game?
Team Fortress 2
Virtonomics. It's free to play and as far I have noticed - they have best developed tools.
Does Football Manager and/or the restaurant empire series count?
Roller Coaster Tycoon is fun, not sure if really a "simulation".
That's the second Zookie thread necro'd in a day. :^)

Also no one mentioned the X series of games, these are very deep economic and logistical simulators more than anything else.

That looks interesting but is it fun?
