gog going to get GOOD games like the TURNBASED warlords games?
When is GOG going to get Wizardry?
When is GOG going to get realistic US price bases? (sorry gog, but quite a few of your games are available even from other Euro vendors for less, "sort of" DRM "free" doesn't cut it.)
When will GOG just get more turnbased goodness rather than shoddy RTS crap?
Finally when will gog realize that many of their "titles" I can purchase physically with a CD/DVD locally for less than thwy're listing them for? (Sherlock games, I'm looking directly at you amogst others..)
[EDIT[
Oh god, have to deal with shit forum sw again f'ing up edits/quotes, anyways
BTW the lower priced bargain game distros are pretty much available at any chain store, including supermarkets ffs!
[/EDIT]
[EDIT2]
HOLY HELL!!!! THEY FIXED THE FORUM SW!

Questions
1, 2, 4: When they do. If you want to increase the likelihood of getting a game, show your interest on the Wishlist.
Question 3: Seems pretty realistic to me. I mean, it is almost like you can actually SEE the numbers.
Seriously though, what is the question? :p
Question 5: Then get those on a cd/dvd?
The driving force behind GoG is that if you provide convenience and incentives, people will purchase it. Sure you might be able to get something cheaper elsewhere, but the (effectively) DRM-Free titles and the extras are usually enough to sway people.

Thanks as to the wishlist did that LONG LONG LONG ago, still no joy.
CD/DVD I already do. Do I look stupid? Pay more for less?!

cutterjohn: , "sort of" DRM "free" doesn't cut it.

Some of us like rts games. You may think there crap while some one may think there great.
So having the power to play your games 10 years form now is not worth 5 or 10 bucks?
Point 2.i can name a few games here on gog that are very hard to find in a store. Name me a store that still sells master of magic.
What, the entire Jagged Alliance series isn't enough TB goodness for you? It's still on sale, I believe... Not to mention all the different State-ruling games here...
Also, I don't think I've ever seen most of the games GOG sells in retail game stores (not in the last decade, anyway). Unless you live close to someplace that specifically sells used PC games (such stores are NOT common), I find it improbable that you can just buy these off a shelf for less than 6-10 USD.

Kind of.
That being said, it just depends on what you consider to have value.
I tend to repurchase the games I already own here, but that is because I love digital distribution. For me, not having to put the disc in the drive (even if I have the manual open next to me) is worth it. For you, maybe not.

I can only name one "hard-to-find" game, Realms of Arkania 3.
[EDIT]
Since they fixed edits...
I loathe digital distribution. Paying more or less? No manual. No disk. I'll only buy digital if I cannot find it in another form, and gog has already become a phail as far as DRM goes.
[/EDIT]
[EDIT2]
OOPS forum software still FUBARed, spoke too soon!
Anyways praetor I already own jagged alliance and to me it was always somewhere between meh and passable. It certainly was no XCOM.
Oh, and whoops I missed that being able to play my games 10-20y from now, well I doubt that I'll have a problem with that since I've been dealign with that LONG since before gog was around and that wasn't even remotely my primary interest in them. My primary interest was in them coughing up rarish European games sans DRM which they've phailed hard at so far...

[edit3]
nope still same shot forum sw fucking up quotes...

WTF are you talking about?! Just most of the games that they phail at removing DRM as they LOUDLY proclaimed that they would do originally, then phailed to do.
Anyways, back to dealing with their shitty forum software that phails at quoting. cya.
I give up this forum sw is a useless POS. Take my posts as you see them. cya.
It likes to randomly add '['/quote] (s) at the end of edits for no good reason...

To be fair you have yet to name the drm gog uses. I don't see any disk checks ,can only install a game 3 times and thats it, or look up something in the manual,or needing to use something like stream.I don't see any thing drm like that in gog. Mind being a bit clearer on which forum of drm gog uses?

Actually to be fair ffs, why do games that are suppoosedly DRM free have to ship with oh little things like manual word lookup lists and the like? That's not even close to DRM free to me. FFS there are more DRM free version available already yet gog is still doing the crude here's a list of the words needed and they can't even be bothered to hexedit the programs? (BTW most of these word lookup drm games can be simply defeasted by hexediting... I used to do this regularly a LONG time ago when I worked at the university in a student computer lab and didn't want to drag my disks along, just like today I regularly crack my games so that I don't have to drag the DVD along for no useful purpose...)

cutterjohn: Why do games that are suppoosedly DRM free have to ship with oh little things like manual word lookup lists and the like?

Because GOG staff has no access to source code of most games (it has been said they have access to few) and for most of the pre 2000 games source code no longer exist. Also every modification needs both permission and aproval of the developer and publisher. Understanding and modifying a source code someone else developed without breaking it requires quite high level programmer skills as well as lots of time and effort.
One good thing about old school copy protection (I personally consider only driver/internet based copy protection DRM) is that unlike it's more modern driver based counterparts, it'll never cause hardware or software incompatibility. Driver based DRM may become incompatible with more modern hardware and software as soon as support for particular DRM version is dropped by DRM developer. Latest internet requiring DRM is even worse as games using them chease to function as soon as game publisher closes the DRM/activation servers for particular game.
