I am somewhat scared, for if GOG fails in Beta then 90% of the games I brought will no longer be claimable because I do not have the space! LOL!
So I want to know when the Launch will happen so I can stop worrying my ass off to get myself a remote hard drive and can relax!

I cannot disclose any details, but this is our first project that has been profitable practically from the get go. We're very happy with it, as most Internet projects do not generate profits yet. Of course, we're not talking of huge profits here, but the trend is very positive and we count on GOG being one of the most important sources of income for the CD Projekt Group in the long term.

From business standpoint, GOG 'beta' is far from failure. I don't know when they'll officially out of beta, but you can relax now...
Even if for some unforseen, extremely unlikely reason it kicks the bucket, they'll give you plenty of warning as they did with CMR/Toca 3...and those didn't end up even going anywhere.

A launch doesn't really guarantee continued success or existence.
Thankfully, we can download and backup the games and goodies we purchase; without need for DRM like programs, that either must be installed and running, or connected to the it's servers. (Steam, Direct2Drive et cetera)

Staying in beta isn't necessarily indicative of problems; Gmail was marketed as a beta for many years before finally being "released". It's not like GOG is a closed beta or anything. CD Projekt clearly wants to make sure everything is just right before removing the beta status--including official Windows 7 compatibility most likely--and having a site in beta is considered cool by some people, so that's certainly a bonus at this early stage.
CD Projekt has already got some major publishers on board, and things will only get better as GOG's customer base grows.

Mmmm yeah Windows 7 compatibility...can't wait.. :)
I've never had a problem with any of the GOG games I've tried on Win7.
Also, sites staying in beta for years is considered standard practice on the "new" web, even if the site is in most respect fully operational.

IMVU, a 3D chat site, was in beta for several year as well - it's often used as excuse for poor or slow development of the site or software. "Well the site still IS beta so it's understandable". In the mean time, most of these sites still charge full fees.
GOG is a good exception where "beta" is really just another word for "more will be added later" and not "half the site is broken and our software is crap".

Sorry, what I was meaning was the game pages stating official Windows 7 support (right now they only say XP & Vista). The games themselves run just fine, as expected, but this additional reassurance would be useful for customers.
All good answers!
Many thanks!

Most of them run fine, but mess up the Games Explorer, and that's why I don't have them installed right now (Yea, I really use Games Explorer ;)).
WoW + TF2 + L4D1/2, not much time for other games at the moment. :)
Back to the subject, I'm seeing GOG as a complete success, maybe not very profitable right now, but in a few years, it should be quite a successful money making project for CD Projekt.
