Greetings.

Suddenly My Win7 hangs att Windows starts. Black screen with the windows logo.

I've tried Everything I can Think of.
Failsafe mode hangs at classpnp.sys.
Repair mode hangs. Everything I do at the F8 meny hangs.
Reinstall hangs after I've chosen languages and pressed install. All repair choices also hangs at that meny.

I can access my drives with Puppy Linux booted from a disc so I tried renaming classpnp.sys but then failsafe mode hangs at driver.sys.

I'm out of ideas except buying a new SSD and replacing my system drive with it. I've bought the drive but don't want to go down that road yet because it will be a hell of a job reinstalling programs and other thing. Lost Firefox bookmarks and many other things.

Puppy Linux loads exclusively on RAM and I've removed my old rams so I don't Think that's it.

Can someone offer any advice?
I'm only a mild computer expert, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But it does sound like a HDD is dead.
You could migrate your current windows to the SSD drive. But it's always best to just reinstall everything.
Wouldn't take more then half a day, there are worse things.

Got anything plugged-in via USB that you don't normally have connected during bootup? My laptop hangs at about the same place if my phone is plugged in...

Reinstall hangs and I can access everything I've tried to get at on my C:\ drive with linux.

Migrate my current install? Hadn't thought of that. More cables so I can install and migrate to my new SSD sounds like a good choice.

Though I'm not at all sure it's the SSD. Do a websearch and you'll find that classpnp.sys can apparently in itself account for my problem.

Nope. I thought of bad USB ports so I changed Places of Everything and I haven't added any New hardware.

Pardon for thé caps and '. Posting on a pad.

and they say that you should d/l a replacement sys file:

Ah i just made the assumption you had a hdd problem thus wanting to perhaps buy a ssd.
one quick google shows this http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/23160-63-windows-hangs-start-classpnp-possible-issue and yeah i think the ssd is just corrupted then and it most likely will be possible to fix with the right program.
Yeah I've read that article blotunga and seatched for a New classpnp.sys filé but can't find it. Your Link didn't work. :(

Edit. lugum that Link was to a complicated article. I'll probably have to wait until tomorrow to even try to make sense of it when I'm fresh and clearheaded.

Well, imho, it's a bit premature to conclude that it is the boot drive. that type of issues means that Win 7 detects an hardware failure. By contrast with, say, Linux, Win 7 will not load and then report something is wrong. It runs diags and then loads..or not.

Often it's the hdd/ssd, but it could also be some motherboard issue. Or even something as stupid as a capacitor that didn't discharge well due to a power cut...

The later is easy to solve. unplug the computer, remove the battery if on a laptop, and press power on for 20 / 30 secs. This would discharge the capacitors . Then plug it back and boot.
Well it's a fairly old stationary so it's not out of thé question that it's a hardware failure. It's just that thé filé classpnp.sys can account for the problems so I want to try everything related to that before buying a New computer or taking it to a mechanic/technician.

Understandable.

What if you unplug every usb peripheral, just plug back the keyboard and the mouse in other usb ports than those used before, then try to reinstall ?
