This was announced before the news of the game being delayed, but I couldn't find a thread relating to it.
Anyway, along with this new trailer, it has been announced that the Witcher 3 will have a second playable character.
Who will it be? Many people think Yennefer... I've posted about this elsewhere, but it'll almost undoubtedly be Ciri.
For one, Ciri has a similar play style to Geralt, meaning that it wouldn't be as hard for CD Projekt to do, as opposed to a 'sorceress'.
Second, and probably more importantly, if you've read the original Witcher books that the games continued the story of, you'll know that Ciri was the 'main' character alongside Geralt. She got the same if not *more* time in the books than any other character.
Because this game will likely focus a great deal on her story, I'd be surprised if we didn't get to play her at some point.
(and CDProjekt Red have also stated in the past a desire to have actually have a Witcher game where you play as Ciri, I believe)
Finally, Yennefer is a love interest of Geralt's, alongside Triss. We have already been told that both are available to romance.
I think it would be rather strange if you were given the chance to play as one of them but not the other. I could understand if say, both were playable characters, but just one of them? Doesn't sound like something that they would do, especially when they've stated that both women will be give "equal chances with Geralt", and there's quite a big emphasis on the choice you make between the two. It'd be like already trying to pick a favourite for the player.
It's still not 'certain' if it will be Ciri, but I'd be very surprised if it wasn't.
CD Projekt Red have stated that you'll play as Geralt the vast majority of the time... so I assume that you'll only play the second character for a relatively short period.
and remember in TW2 controlling Saskia, Henselt etc? It'll probably be something like that, if a little more involved.
What are everyone else's thoughts? Opinions?
