Since Apogee is now on board will we be seeing Wolfenstein 3D anytime soon? I love this game as it was the first computer game I really got into on my family's old Gateway. It was one of the games that defined the shooter on the PC.
You should know by now that no one from GOG will confirm or deny a game on the forums. At best, all they will do is tease about upcoming games or publishers, at least until an official Tuesday or Thursday announcement is made.
It's an id game.

Yeah I just realised it was a game developed by Apogee, but distributed by id. Oh well, maybe one day...
I figured asking wouldn't hurt...

Wut.
Wolf 3D was developped by id and Apogée had some right over it to distribute it but id noticed it was quite useless so they ended up distributing it themselves. Though they borrowed the shareware principle :D
yeah, but id retains full rights afaik. Wolf3d is on steam. :D

Indeed, and indeed :)
I'd love to see Wolfenstein 3d on GOG. It's nice to see this game work on windows 7.

Apogee is in a confusing state.
There's 3D Realms, the 'true' successor to Apogee, and they still sell games, including Wolfenstein 3D on their own site, and these releases are DRM-free and wrapped in DOSBox (but you lose the download link after about a year)

Then there's Apogee Software, the 'legal' successor to Apogee, and they are the ones who brought the Apogee games to GOG.

And you can get it cheaply on steam:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/2270/

It has no DRM there either .
It's also been opened sourced and WOLF4SDL I think is the best "true to original" port I've found(I.E. no super upgrades just the basics-control and compatibility).

You mean, except for the Steam DRM on-line platform....
