Hi Folks,

My question is to developers/community of GOG: when we'll see this game UFO Enemy Unknown in GOG?

Thanks
I'm sure GOG wants it here too. Most likely it depends on when 2K will sign their end of the agreement.
I remember MrT was very sceptical about it (he even mentioned that if you want to play classic X-Coms -Steam is your best option). It was long time ago but...I wouln't count on it.

If it's the old ones you want, just buy them off Steam. They aren't expensive and are actually DRM free there (except for Enforcer and Interceptor, but no one wants those two). No one knows if and when 2K is coming to GOG.
Gamersgate is also your friend at the moment:

Also Enforcer was quite of fun...

The most I hate is "Apocalypse", closed the game after 2 minutes, as I was unable to figure out what to do :)

What?!!?

That is the best of the bunch. A lot of complexity was underneath the game that hardly any game has achieved since.

Then, I think I need to download the manual for this (usually I never read game manuals). I love complex games, but the game should tell you how the game works and you don't have to study books just to do your first steps :)

Yeah, back then they didn't really do tutorials. I I would actually recommend a strategy guide more than the manual. That's where I learned the basics.

You mean like the original X-Com? :P

at least, the original X-Com was quite easy to understand. Even without a tutorial or reading the manual, you are able to jump into that game.

Seems to also list all five games as DRM-free, which I presume means the old "after the download is completed, copy the installation files from the temp directory to elsewhere, before starting or cancelling the actual installation"-workaround.

I have the 1999 retail collection, which seems to miss the Enforcer game, but has the "Em@il Games: X-Com", whatever that is...

That's correct. Also, the first two games come with the DOS and the Windows version (including a fix to make the latter work on modern Windows versions, though it doesn't work on all of them). The Windows versions aren't mentioned in the game descriptions, and the installer doesn't install any shortcut for them, but the files are there.
So, then if we want have it we should buy one on Steam.
But I hope :) that once, those games (X-COM series) will appear on this site :)
