After several huge failures at actually playing games at a LAN (drivers, patches, game breaking bugs, OS versions not supported, etc). I have decided to make a VM with a heap of LAN games on in which are tested and known working.
I'm happy to pay for multiple copies of the games to do this, but clearly DRM is suddenly a huge problem in making this actually work.
I've already got a heap of games from GOG going, but after that things get a bit harder. Also got Warcraft 3 and UT2004 going. LAN only is required, not internet. No unique login/cdkey is a requirement as I want to be able to maintain and revise a central copy of the VM.
Anyone done something like this before? Got suggestions on games that work?
