After exporting my character at the end of Part 1, when I switch to the second module there a few problems: The character's portrait is missing, as are her legs, and the rest of her model doesn't conform with Part 1's version either. Seemingly no issues with NPC appearances. If I create a character from scratch everything looks normal, but my existing character remains broken if I try to customize it. Assets from Part 1 are simply missing.

I know that Part 2 is far out of date with Part 1, but I thought they used a shared set of assets in their hak files? My Part 1 is on V2.20 and Part 2 is V.1.23, both are the latest downloads as far as I know. It seems like the version discrepancy has never caused issues for anyone else going through both parts, I'm not sure what the problem would be.
I noticed that there's two versions of Part 1 - There's the original version of Part 1 and the NWN:EE Compatible version of Part 1. Are you using the NWN:EE compatible version or the original?
Update: an alternate way to edit your botched imported appearance into part 2 is to use the "Customize Character Override HAK (CCOH)" tool/mod/utility. I don't know if you can post links here, but you can easily find it in the neverwintervault website. I used it and made my character look totally normal after she had a missing pelvis and hands (you can modify other body areas too. It's a really handy tool)

Hi sorry for necro'ing this, but i think it's still an issue for people importing a character from v2.20 of part 1 of Dance With Rogues to v1.23 of part 2.

I experience the same issue the OP reported... I think the only solution possible is to create a "new" character for Part 2, then console in XP & Gold & Ability Scores & maybe even items if you can find the item codes to match your character from part 1 (can't console in your piercing though... oh my!).
