Savengaard: Great advice! How is Dwarven Defender? I'm itching to play one, but I don't know how good they are. I don't mind tanking things and being a brick wall of absolute pain and defense.
The only time I play a Dwarf. Dwarven Defenders are tough defensively and lose nothing offensively. Very nice.
It's natural to be a Fighter as your main class to lead into DD (Favored class of Dwarves, lots of feats).
Often a good idea to have a second minor class with Tumble. Usually I do Rogue, but you are traveling with a real player Rogue, I would go Monk.
You have to be lawful anyway, Monks get cleave for free, and get much better saves than adding Rogue, and you can use Monk boots without putting skill points into UMD, and a small speed boost. With free Cleave, take Exotic Weapon Prof early and you can use any weapon, including Dwarven War axe.
Spread out 3 or 4 Monk levels (like at 1, 7, 12, 17) for tumble dumps. 6 or 7 fighter levels and as many DD levels as possible.
