So I've checked the 10-page stickied thread, but the most recent posts are from 2016 and direct us to go to "Library -> Neverwinter Nights -> More -> Serial Keys. " but that doesn't exist anymore. Now we have "Games" instead of "Library" and my NWN and NWN2 do not have a "More" option to choose from. There is a "Support" option, which does list the CDKey issue, but just directs me to the old obsolete stickied thread I just mentioned. Does anyone have new, up to date information on how to access multiplayer in NWN2?

FWIW, when I try launching multiplayer I get the common "Error: Your individual serial key is not assigned to your game. Please use the Multiplayer Key Changer, found under the Start menu" (and of course there is no "Multiplayer Key Changer" found under the Start menu).

FWIAW, I already downloaded the unofficial Client Extension by Skywing, but I haven't installed it yet since the instructions say that the CDKey is required anyway.

Anyone have the solution(s)? All I want to do is play MP. Didn't realize it would be such a PITA.

Are you trying to access keys through Galaxy client? They can be found when using website.
And if for some reason shortcut wasn't created during installation, you can find CDKey Tool directly in the game install folder.

I'm not sure what you mean by "galaxy client"... I bought and downloaded this from GOG.com a few months back. I don't see a CDKey Tool in the install folder, but I do see the nwncdkey.ini, but it just has 3 blank spaces, "1=" "2=" and "3=" with no actual keys there.

You can find your serial keys under in your Library - what do you mean you do not have 'More' option? (pic attached) Could you post how it looks like instead?

after installation there should be a SerialTool.exe program that can be used to input them, but you can also edit nwncdkey.ini manually in Notepad and add them yourself

When I try to run SerialTool.exe, it asks me to manually input the keys (which I don't have) and when I click the provided link to "My Account" on the tool, I get a 404. (see attached)
When I log into the GOG website, I don't have an option for "Library" -- the closest I see is "Games" (see attached). If I go to Games, there's no "More" when I click the carat under NWN2.

We will brush up support articles as well. Thanks ;)
Same issue as this poster. Followed the steps to get CD Key, ran the .exe tool, but the save options remain greyed out even after putting in the CD keys.

This has kinda been a pain in the butt just to get one game's multiplayer working.
Yep. Me too.

IIRC you can just put them manually in the correct file in your NWN directory:

nwncdkey.ini

;These are your CD Keys for Neverwinter Nights.
;DO NOT share these CD Keys with ANYONE.
;Apart from this installation, or when registering with the Official Neverwinter Nights Community Site [http://nwn.bioware.com], BioWare and Atari will NEVER ask you for this CD Key.

[CDKEY]
Key1=xxxx-xxxxx
Key2=xxxx-xxxxx
Key3=xxxx-xxxxx
I'm not certain I follow. Am I making up a random string of characters?

The problem indicated was having the keys, but the key tool failing.

You don't need the tool. I have never used the key tool. I have only entered them manually.

You just take your keys put them in that file.

Obviously I am not going to copy my keys into a public forum so I used xxxx...

I need some help as well. Trying to connect via the client extension. I've put my keys into the nwncdkey.ini WITH and WITHOUT the dashes

ex: entered keys as THIS
xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
and THIS
xxxxxxxxxxxx

and it's still giving me the "enter cd keys via the key changer." However, when I go to the changer and enter in the keys, both buttons are grayed out.

I have even copied the nwnckey.ini to the nwn2 folder in the My Documents folder. Again, still doesn't work.

If someone could explain to me what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate it.
EDIT: disregard this comment
