There are plenty of spells that can help prevent confusion. But heal, as eolsunder explains, isn't one of them. Instead, use:
- Protection from Alignment. Level 1 spell, cleric and wizard, makes you immune to mind affecting stuff provided it originates from said alignment. (You select whether you protect from Good or from Evil. Most enemies are evil.) This spell alone wards of 90% of the stuff you'll encounter.
- Magic Circle against Alignment: 3rd level sorcerer/wizard cleric spell. Does the same as above, except it affects everyone within 10' of the caster. Has bugs.
- Lesser Mind Blank. 5th level sorcerer/wizard spell. Prevents all mind-affecting stuff and dispels any that are in effect. This is your best bet if you're already affected by something.
- Mind Blank. 8th level sorcerer/wizard spell. The same as the above, but has a big area of effect so you can protect the whole party.
Items that provide immunity to mind spells are very nice to have, but generally are expensive and you're unlikely to find enough for the whole party, in most modules. NWN1 had potions of Clarity, which were a helpful short-term protection, but they're not in NWN 2 anymore. All in all, the Protection from Evil spell is by far the most cost-effective, though not foolproof, solution.
