I can't increase my screen size beyong 16:9.

All the resolutions are the same size.
I'm confused. 16:9 isn't a resolution size. It's an aspect ratio. What is it you're trying to do?

You're going to need to be more specific about your problem if you want help with it.

Erm, your aspect ratio is usually changed alongside your resolution.

Unless there's a seperate option thing for aspect ratios?

Anyway, my problem is that I want the game to cover the whole screen, and not just the center with black edges around it.

Well change than resolution to aspect ratio that fits your screen, there are 3: 4:3 (1240*1024) 16:10 (1680*1050) 16:9 (1920*1080)

If you have larger resolution, like: 2560*1600 or something, you can't have your game without that black corners, unless you reduce your initial monitor resolution to supported one, but games usually do that by themself

The game doesn't let me change the aspect ratio, only the resolution.

But after playing the game a bit, it's fine. The screen is big enough and it's definitively playable.

Off topic, but i started the game with the normal game campaign, and I think i'll play the expansions after completing the normal game. Is this the way to go?
No game can let you change aspect ratio...Aspect ratio is something that defines ratio between Width and Height of your monitor. How is that unclear to you? Resolution is aspect ratio dependent, it means how many pixels you have in width and height....
So it is like this:
4:3 = 1.3333 1280:1024 = 1.33 meaning your width will always be 1,33 times bigger then height
If I have monitor with aspect ratio 16:9, I cant have resolution in 4:3 without having black borders on the side of the screen

So to play on aspect ratio your monitor is, change resolution accordingly, look under your properties what's screen resolution of your monitor and put that in NWN under settings.

You can play whatever campaign you like, the story isn't relevant to one another, and you can save your character in any campaign and import it in another.

So the aspect ratio depends on the resolution I choose?
Other games usually display what the aspect ratio becomes once you have changed the resolution, hence my confusion.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, aspect ratio and resolution are dependent. For you monitor aspect ratio, your graphic card will offer you natural screen resolutions for your monitor's aspect ratio. So just copy that to your settings if you are not sure what resolution you have and what resolution goes with which aspect ratio.

Some games may also automatically read your resolution and put that as default right from the start, but this is pretty old game, and you have to chose it for yourself.

Enjoy your game :)
@astraldemon: 1280x1024 resolution (SXGA) has 5:4 aspect ratio, not 4:3 (it would be 1280x960). :)

FYI, NWN1 runs OK at 2560x1600 (the only graphical oddity is cutscenes, which run in the centre part of the screen don't clear the content at either side).

The smaller scale UI elements (inventory, maps, etc) may not be to everyone's taste and the inability to relocate them does mean more mouse-work - but it is definitely playable.
