I am unable to collect any crates near the ship. There is no interaction at all. The only action I can do is smashing them into nirvana and thus destroying quest items. Even if I destroy every crate nothing happens.

The campaign looks really promising but this one bug right now kills all he fun I had :/

Haven't played it, so I have no idea if this is a bug or what.

Try checking online some to see if you can determine whether it is a bug. If so, contact support; they may be able to help you.

You don't actually open & remove anything from the crates.
Just left clicking on the first one should update your journal.
The chat window should tell you you have gained ore when you click on the 2nd two..

Left clicking those crates didn't help thats why I tried every other possibility available to me (bash, use etc). Needles to say, neither of them worked.

What feature is bugged, collecting ore or just the quest ?

It never happened to me before, and I just started a new game and got to that part again, and the crates functioned normally. I looked in the toolset at the area, and I don't see the crates at all, so they must be spawned at some point during the quest, or else I was looking in the wrong area. I'd guess there's something wrong with your installation, and if you have a bug like that you may have more later, so better to try to resolve the underlying problem and start over.

I had no problems playing the OC at all. It went as smooth as possible, no bugs/glitches at any part of the game. Thought I woulda try to reinstall everything if I could, but I can't since I don't have access to the internet at home due to problems with my provider.

Is there no other way to resolve this issue ? Couldn't I use the console to skip/finish this quest and continue my game ?

Yes, you can advance any quest to the next stage with the console. Here's the command for the quest Job Application.

You'll need to open the console and activate debug mode for it to work. You might need to have your main character selected.
