Hi, i'm having a weird texture stretching bug with the first NWN after upgrading my 770 to the 1070. There is also a weird cursor bug when I load into the game. The cursor freezes when I load into the game whether its main game or Online Server. This results in having a double cursor.

I've attached some screenshots of the stretching issue, but the Double cursor issue was unable to be captured.

Anyone know of a fix to this? It's not a driver issue (AFAIK) or it is, because I've tried them all and none of them fixed the issue.

Odd problem but the game has all types of problems some of them can't be solved and just lived with.
With radeon cards for example lot of CEP stuff is invisible and you have to turn off env map for
creatures or get invisible player... yet still get invisible player at character creation screen.

Some bugs with game can't be fixed really unless the CPP (community patch) adds some type of fix for it.

Are you on 1.69 or 1.72?

Still holds up pretty decent for such old game ... just wish could get shaders working with CPP

Well it probably will have to be a driver fix, or no fix at all.

A few years ago, NVidia came out with a new generation of cards, that ran NWN like crap (VERY Slow). It was about 6 months before they got the drivers sorted out so the new cards could run NWN decently.

A game this old with a shrinking audience isn't going to get a lot (or any) testing.

I'm on 1.69, I wasn't aware that there was a 1.72.

Yea, it still holds up pretty decently for an old game

I've talked to Nvidia and EVGA and they said it might be a driver issue. Nvidia rep said that they'll "look into it" but no clue if they plan on fixing it though :/

There isn't. It's a fan patch. I stick with 1.69 so I have the official patch that most people have.

An unofficial fan patch can also introduce it's own issues...
I have the same problem with stretched textures / polygons after upgrading from an ATI card to a GTX 1080. It really seems to be a driver issue.

...
Not really

the so called "fan patch" fixes 99.9% of the issues... and makes things that were hardcoded/impossible possible.
useless "patches" are cep and project q.

from the word on internet it is a bug in the official nvidia driver patches...
If only someone could make unofficial patch to fix it ... rolls eyes.

Sorry just find it funny people that cry about the 1.72 patch are typically the same perverts
and pedophiles that go play on sinfar server to fantasy about raping small children while they download a patch that likely sends their credit card information to the fbi. that is the 1.71 patch notes... beta 1.72 is already up to beta 14 i think at this point and time?

On an unrelated topic, how do I give negative rep to someone? Just asking, no special reason.

You don't exactly live in one of those immune countries.

It would have to be nvidia to fix it.

Same reason ati cards have so much problems with this game... and nothing gog can do
but provide the solutions people have come up with.

The issue is nvidia drivers so options include waiting for new drivers or switch back to 970

You're not going to get an answer to your stretching problem from either because it isn't a driver issue nor is it an issue with anything that CD Projekt has the ability to fix. It's a problem with jiggly models and BioWare's spectacular error handling that allows NPCs to spawn outside the game world.

pseudonymous: It's a problem with jiggly models and BioWare's spectacular error handling that allows NPCs to spawn outside the game world.
Exactly why it happens to everyone rolls eyes...

It is a 10XX video card problem

ATI has problems with their cards and this game cause bioware use to use backwards (opposite of what suppose to be) reflective/transparent properties ... so they added a quick hack to change it just for the game nwn...

so to get ATI card to play game you need to rename the exe so driver doesn't try to patch it (which crashes it) than you must turn off env maps or everything is transparent (bioware has it backwards... sigh)

Than you have problem creating character cause the env map is still enabled during creation and you can't customize them because invisible.

Solution to that is to grab copy of apperance.2da modify the file for all player races and put **** in place of "default" that inverses the transparent / reflective property fixing it.

Don't whine cause you have problems playing a game buddy.

The Nvidia problem is DRIVER issue.
You got to think nwn isn't using premade engine...

Its in house custom built engine that took them nearly decade to make.
I waiting watch the progress of the game from day 1 when they had a dinky black background page with basic description of their plans.

Not to mention dishonesty of linux client.

I have a similar issue on my GTX 1060 here.

Clothing textures on characters are either missing or stretched out over the entire screen. This affects custom textures from community modules as well as some OC models, for example turning into a mindflayer with my shifter will result in a floating head, even in the OC modules.

Didn't have this issue on my old GTX 590, although it might very well be a new driver.

edit: whoopsie, this thread only showed me the OP before I posted, guess it's allready being talked out. I'm just gonna leave this up for further information's sake

Just want to add my $.02 here.

I'm having the exact same problem with NWN and my 1080.

Please find a fix.

I also posted this on the GEFORCE forums.
