I just got this game and I'm having several minor issues with the graphics:

1) In playing through the Prelude of the original campaign, I noticed that the skeletons have "black" faces - their face textures are missing! What's up with that?

2) I'm also getting an odd occurrence - randomly placed black or colored "spots" appearing on the screen - it's almost like I'm watching the game play as movie using a scratchy/spotty print. I tried switching refresh rates (in game, not the monitor's) and reducing anti-aliasing, to no avail.

My system specs are:

IBM Desktop 2.4GHz running 32-bit Windows Vista Home Basic with 896MB RAM
ATI 128MB 9600XT Graphics Card (AGP)
Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer Sound Card (PCI)

It's an old system, but it runs these old games pretty well. Any thoughts?

Also, I had a question about what patches, if any, the GOG version of the game needs. I know it's been patched to 1.69, but is there anything else I need?

Thanks for any and all assistance.

Regards,
Michael
If you purchased and downloaded the game any time prior to last Monday (January 3), then you will need to download and install the Critical Rebuild patch from BioWare to replace missing game data files that had not been updated in the GOG installer until earlier this week.

To make sure your game is up to date, the size of the xp3.bif file in your NWN\Data folder should be ~627,919KB.

With the up to date version of the game, I would try the following (in order):

-Disable Shiny Water in your video settings
-Set SafeMovie=1 under [Display Options] in nwn.ini (in your NWN directory)
-Update video/audio drivers
