So I've got the NWN2 Client Extender installed on my game and I was looking how to get online. Information on this is a little difficult. We edited a copy of the shortcut and called it NWLauncher_-_DM_Client.exe, and put "-dmd at the end of the target of the shortcut, and edited the CD key information to match what I had on in the GOG serial keys entry via browser with the serial tool in the directory.
From my end, I cannot see the serverlist when I go through the login and visit the gamespy online browser. There are no servers that show up in the list. BUT, when I run the NWN2_ServerMonitor.exe (which I also installed in the directory), I can see the list of servers that show up just fine. Instead in the NWN2 Join Internet game client, I get "your connection to gamespy has been lost."
I turned off my firewall and AV and tested it, but still no dice. As for my friend, they keep trying to run a server but it's pulling a local ip address, it's not using a public IP. I looked at my public IP, and it pulls a mac address on google. IP chicken pulls an actual ip address.
Any idea on what's going on? I tried to give as much info as I could, any help would be lovely. Thank you!
EDIT: I ran the program as Admin, and changed my network to Private, and the server list appeared!
tl;dr anyone have a good tutorial on how to play online that is current or semi-up to date?
