Aramyn89: There's an alternate route you can take to get this dlc up and running, it doesn't use the game launcher. It's what I ended up doing after several failed attempts to install the DLC the proper way.
First you need to visit this link and download the .rar file.
http://www.mediafire.com/?3v941nnn9b18nsx Once it's downloaded, extract it somewhere. Open the folder up and inside you will see the troll.dzip file. Copy and paste that file into your C:/program files/The Witcher 2/CookedPC folder. If all went well you should now be able to pick up the quest off the notice board in Flotsam.
Kodos to you sir and thank you. I asked GOG about links to the DLC and upcoming patches and so far no reply. This is getting frustrating and I'm losing faith in my new experience, the way that CD Projekt seems to saying you can only get patches to allow the game to work if you expose your windows box directly to the Internet which I have no itention of doing. Too much work to make sure no "phone home" operations going on. I purchase a game to have, fun not feel I need to monitor it. So many people having to work to enjoy game/content we were told were included in the package. I'll have to check the content to make sure it has no "extra features" but thanks a mil fellow Canadian.
CD Projekt Red: I want to like you guys but I'm not real fond of how you are handling DLC distribution right now (based on this I'm fearful for the patches as well). I cannot even register on your site. I'm losing my faith guys. Come on, let's stop playing games (no pun intended) and to this right. I should be able to get all the files I've paid for without exposing my clean XP box to processes executed over the Internet. Official Links for patches and DLC PLEASE. (I'd register on the website if I could...)
