Ive looked through the forums and ive tried everything that was suggested but i am still unable to get the game to load up. I get the wolf head appear, a notification in the taskbar but then the launcher reappears.

Specs: Core I7
ATI 5870 x 2 (crossfire)
3 x 24" monitors in eyefinity
6gb ddr3 ram
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

I have disabled eyefinity run with 1 monitor with res of 1920X1080 (desktop res set to same), disabled fullscreen, disable crossfire and still nothing.

All drivers are upto date (cat 11.5 with cap2), windows is upto date etc

Any help would be appreciated

have you tried launch the game from ..\The Witcher 2\bin folder? click on witcher2.exe

yes just tried that and again nothing. Just installed it on my MSI laptop and it runs on that (Core I5, 4gb ddr3 ram, ATI 5870mobile, windows 7 x64 home). only software difference on the 2 machines is the laptop is running avast anti virus and my deskptop running avg 2011. ANyone had issues with the witcher 2 and avg?

Try disabling fullscreen.

Err... nevermind, serves me right for not reading the whole post.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I click the launch button, it shows the wolf icon then it goes back to the launch screen. When i tried to run it from the .exe file the blue ring near my mouse pointer showed that something was trying to load but nothing happened. This is quite aggravating and the patch that was supposed to work around lauch issues didn't help either.
