Nothing magical about his disguise as stated, he was wearing a long enough cloak to conceal his muscles, now after the fact if you look more closely you can clearly tell there's a middle linebacker under that cloak, but it's defiantly tougher to tell at first glance.

Plus Geralt wasn't really pay attention and looking out the window before it was too late to realize what was going on.. The kids helped a lot of that deception since they went to the monk before Foltest came. It was a really well-done scene.

Alright, I just watched it again on you tube, and I guess you're right. For some reason it struck me he was magically disguised, like the super Buff wizard in the first game was at times. I don't know how that robe could realistically conceal that gun show Letho has going on, though.

I love Foltest. He, and really, the other Northern Kings, are all great. Henselt was a pleasant surprise as well. Yea, they're all bastards from any modern point of view, but taken in context of the setting, I love 'em all. :p

The sheer confidence they all radiate shows you what it took to be a leader of men in such an environment.

When Geralt relaxed by the window, I was like, "oh fuck, the king is going to die". Still, Letho showed some real class by letting the children get out of sight first. Can't say Witchers are completely heartless. :p

As an aside, who else laughed at Foltest's expression when Letho (as a priest) told him it was time to pray? That so embodied the typical leader's kowtowing to religion, even in today's modern society, that I almost spit out the coke I was drinking at the time.

Yeah, I noticed that. I was somewhere between amused and "you, sir, better pray or you might very well be stricken down quite soon. harharhar" (as I knew Foltest was going to die - not to be avoided with all that pre-release attention TW2 produced)

Such a great part of the game! I literally cried, "Nooo!" when it happened! I actually liked Foltest. He was a rough and ready king who didn't take crap from anyone. And he seemed to genuinely have been thankful for Geralt helping him, his daughter, and his kingdom in the Witcher 1. And he seemed to actually like Geralt as a person too.

Nah, it's justified quite well at the end of the game.

considering the circumstances, the monk guarding the king's children, the monk being inside a besieged castle, etc, perfectly understandable why both geralt and the king were caught off guard. bottom line, you're an abject moron who can't see the big picture.

If only Geralt had the internet and had seen all the trailers. Curses!

Paranoid king who knows that somebody is after him, supernatural monster hunter, who already killed one assassin, both falling for the monk disguise? The oldest trick in the book?
Why would I feel bad for someone, who can't even protect himself?

I wonder how long the Kingslayer had been infiltrated in the court. It had to have been some time, in order to have been trusted with care of the children, and for the children to be at ease around him. Otherwise, the kids kind of hosed poor Foltest, but not giving any outward sign that this was some weird creepy monk on HGH that just sort of showed up and started hanging around, and just playing and being all happy.

You'd think that under all that scrutiny, somebody would have raised an eyebrow and asked him about his workout regimen. :)
