The launcher connects initially then drops the connection. I checked my network and firewall settings and it is allowed to access the network so... I'm at a loss.

Launcher is useless ATM, download patch manually from:
[url=]http://en.thewitcher.com/patch/[/url].
And that *still* won't fix the launcher :)

Thanks. I knew I could go elsewhere for the patch. Just was wondering if there was something up with the launcher or if it was my machine.
