Hi there,
just like many others the game was constantly crashing, even after a clean install - or so I thought.
Clean install means cleaning up cloud saves as well. GOG for example saves every single file in the savegeames "The Witcher" folder to the cloud and simply downloads them again if deleted. So doing the following got rid of crashes (full ray tracing) for me:
1. Uninstall The Witcher
2. Create a backup of your savegames in your ...\saved games\The Witcher 3 folder
3. Delete "The Witcher 3" folder
4. Install The Witcher 4.0
5. Start the game
6. While game is running, press alt + tab to go to your Desktop, go to "...\saved games\The Witcher 3" folder
and delete all files except the savegames
7. close the game. The Witcher will get synced with the cloud, but this time the cloud upload will only contain savegame files
8. Restart The Witcher, set up your settings and play the game
I hope it helps
