I bought this game yesterday and played it quite a bit and everything worked and looked great. However, I cannot save a game and there is no Menu option to load a saved game either. I have tried installing, re-installing, and even verifying the installation. I checked permission in Windows 10 Properties under the Security tab. Whether I launch it from the root folder or with the Galaxy client the results are the same. I don't want a refund, I just want the game to work so that I can pick up gameplay where I left off. Does anyone have any ideas?
Make sure you have a '..\The Witcher 3\gamesaves\' folder in your documents folder.
There was one. I am going to delete it and then reinstall the whole thing one more time. I find it peculiar that the game menu has never shown "Saved Games" anywhere, whether blacked out or not. This is the first of the series that I will be trying to play and save.
Support has not been able to help. I really was enjoying the game but if I cannot return to where I left off I am going to have to demand a refund. Still, I'm not going to buy the game at Steam.
Got a fix now, if anyone else has the same issue using the Windows 10 OS.

Would be nice if you mentioned the fix.
This fix may be necessary after a recent Windows 10 Update:

1) Go to Start > Settings
2) Select Update & Security
3) Open Windows Defender Security Center
4) Select Virus & Threat Protection and then choose Virus And Threat Protection Settings
5) Under the Controlled Folder Access change the setting to "off."

Done

Now, Windows 10 should no longer block one from saving games.
