Before Cyberpunk 2077 releases and probably overtakes Witcher 3 in terms of popularity and box office, i wanted to pay my tribute to Witcher 3, their previous AAA title.

This game has had such an incredibly positive influence on me. Even though my laptop ran it in 25 FPS low settings, i will never forget all those wonderful moments spent with it. It has so many flaws i can hardly count them. The combat is not bad, but gets boring pretty quickly, the skill tree is silly (at some point you run out of slots to place your perks in), and the main antagonist of the base game has like 12 lines. And yet all of it fits together so nicely. The graphics and the views are very pretty, even on low. The story remains engaging even despite how many characters never fulfill their potential (the King of Beggars and Eredin, for instance). The monsters are very varied and you need to use different strategies against every species. The choices you make affect your story immensely. I can't quite put it into words, but everything just flows so nicely. I loved the Witcher 1, but it's hardly a technically astounding game. I liked the concept of Witcher 2, but i thought the gameplay and swordplay were too unintuitive and frustrating that, after finishing the story once, all my replay attempts have ended before i even dispel the mist. The Witcher 3 took the best out of both worlds, and then multiplied it.

I know my post is a bit chaotic, but i just wanted to say: Even if Cyberpunk is a bad game, or to the contrary, even if it's 100 times as good as the Witcher 3, i will never forget this game and how much it meant for me. Actually, i am in the midst of my... 6th, perhaps? playthrough, and the game is still as good as it used to be. I recently stopped so that my mind is clear going into Cyberpunk, but i don't intend on aborting it, oh no i don't.

Long Live Witcher 3!
Support that 100% - Witcher 3 is a great game and a landmark!
