"Careful! There could be more in there!"

The elf is cowering near the crates repeating this line. The quest will not progress. All the dwarfs are dead. I've done it twice, same problem. The objective is, Escape the Ambush. I can't escape the ambush anymore than killing everyone who tried to ambush me. Also have the infinity-Loading bug for the Ice Giant quest, maybe related?

Edit: This is a horrible bug report. I'll be happy to provide system specs, saves, screenshots, Fraps recordings as requested.

You have to move out of the area of the quest marker.
Just walk away and leave him & it will update.

Thanks. I am way, WAY outside the area of the quest marker. It's stuck. I'll wander around and see if there are any rogue dwarfs/ambushers that I might have missed.

Edit: Yeah, this one's stuck. I can't move outside the quest area because the doors are all locked, and if I talk to him he says the same line. Let me fondle up a most-recent save.

The same thing happened to me, he just kept saying there may be more.
There wasn't so I just gave up and left.
When I got around the corner, he teleported to me & it updated.

I'm not having the same luck you are; I've been running around a while now. . . but either way, can we agree that this quest is broken and he should be responding sooner? Bug report.

Yeah, I'm an idiot. Just figured that out. I tried jumping over them at first, unsuccessfully, and assumed they were just decoration. Then I noticed they looked a bit rickety. Perception +1.

Don't feel bad about it :)

There are a couple of places and situations in this game that seemingly require more common sense (or weird thinking) then usual is at disposal.

SPOILER >>> spent one hour trying to dribble a bit of Chord Lure on the floor when the process had been quite simple.
All in all these are the moments in W3 when I am remembered of games in the past (no automap, no quest markers, just you and your problems), it is simply great!
