Hey guys,

does anyone know if there is a way to fix the ragdol glitches? If it is not clear what i mean here is a short explanation: Whenever i kill an humanoid enemy (especially drowners) their bodys jump high in the air or fly 5 meters away from me.
I couldnt find a way to fix it yet and its quite annoying tbh. If anyone has an idea what i can do, i would appreciate their help!

Hi Zero_Dark_Nova.

The death animations do not use an intensive physics simulation. Thus, many of the times that an NPC/monster is killed, even Geralt, after the proper animation finishes, whether short or lengthy, after an execution or not, bodies can float or jump around at the general direction opposite of where the killing blow's force was applied, in varying degrees of hilarity.
As a note, all NPCs have death animations, that last from the moment the fatal hit was dealt to the moment their models hit the ground, with only small ragdoll deviations. The complete opposite applies to the majority of the monsters and Geralt (their animations can be too short), even though beasts like bears, wolves and dogs behave, when killed, mostly like NPC models do.
Bottom line, the ragdoll behavior is not a bug/glitch, but a locked/forced feature aiming to economize on CPU usage, since many other objects in the game do use quality physics simulations and those tend to reserve a fair amount of CPU power resources. On the other hand, monsters are lacking on the death animation department, while the low physics quality ragdoll effect is not a satisfying replacement.

Cheers.

First thanks for your answer! Second i just wanted to make it clear that i already played witcher 3 and its expansions completly on a console before but since this game is one of the best ever made i wanted to replay it on my pc aswell (and i still will). Now the thing is that i know the humanoids can have "wierd" death animations or that their body flips a bit when it hits the ground but the way that it happens in my game just seems not right. Especially drowners fly several meters up in the air the second they die (nearly every single time i kill one) and i havent seen this in videos before. This is why i thought it was a glitch or a bug.

Hi again ZeroDark_Nova.

It's quite common for dead Drowner models to behave this way. I wouldn't know if their ragdoll physics are more exaggerated on PC, compared to the console versions of the game, but for Drowners specifically, it seems that their crouched combat stance "unfolds" when they get killed and thus it tends to "spring-jump" them to unexpected heights, coupled by the usual ragdoll physics throwing their models opposite to where the strike force was applied. Occasionally there can be noticed "flying around" wildly behaviors, but they occur rarely.
Otherwise it would be interesting to post a video of it, or try and reinstalling the game, or even checking your GPU settings, for any physics enhancements, through its dedicated software.

Cheers

Hey gonna try to reinstall it maybe it works. If not i will upload a clip of it to the forum.

Have a great one mate!

Hello from 2021!
Would you be so kind to tell me whether you have solved the problem?

Couple of years ago I've played the pirated version of the game and there was no ragdoll bug in there.
Now in official version of the game it's really breaking the immersion for me.

Thank you!

Hi Damagedlove.

The physics bug has not been patched and now it is considered a game feature.

Cheers!
