It's a shame Loom didn't get a sequel, it's an interesting world, I would have loved to see it developed further. I also love the music mechanics of the game, so more of it would have been awesome. The art of Mark Ferrari is always amazing, what he did for Loom is no exception, so many beautiful backgrounds!

Finally, I'm done with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! This game can be so annoying. I've played it many, many times through the years, but I think this is the second time I've actually finished it, I usually get frustrated with the fights and stop playing. Loom is next in my LucasArts adventure games marathon, that one I like way more than Indy and the Last Crusade, but I don't play it often because I don't like having to write the music notes for spells.

I really, really, really hate fighting in this game! While many fights can be avoided, those in the Zeppelin can't. Fights up there seem to be a little bit easier than normal, but still the damage accumulates and things can go wrong after a few fights, A shame, because other than that the game is very nice.

Another Maniac Mansion reference.

I hate having to go through endless dialogue trees to avoid fighting the nazis in this game, it makes the game way longer than it should and really annoying, I don't want to use a walkthrough, though. On a more positive note, I love the Maniac Mansion references.

The improvements for the third game using the Scumm engine, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, were very nice; for the first time there was the option to talk and use dialogue trees and for the first time we were able to use the verb "look" to get a description of things in the room and inventory items. I love the room in the image I've attached, full of easter eggs with references to Maniac Mansion, Zak, the Indiana Jones movies and also the first cameo of Sam and Max.

I finally found some time to finish Zak. I like that the FM Towns version removed the darkness on the Mars mazes, it makes life easier. It also looks very nice, but I would rather play with the Commodore 64 graphics, which is the way I first played this game back in the 80s (and unlike Maniac Mansion, this one I was not able to solve back then). Next game on the list is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade... I'm not looking forward to the fighting parts, but the rest of the game I find enjoyable.

Done playing Maniac Mansion, next game on my list will be Zak McKracken.

I continue with part two of my LucasArts marathon with more Maniac Mansion, this time I played the enhanced version and tried a different ending with Wendy geting a contract for the evil Purple Meteor. Next time I'll play Maniac Mansion one last time with the last two kids, so I can get Bernard's ending. And then I'll start wit Zak McKracken.

Doing a LucasArts adventure games marathon. Already finished Maniac Mansion, original version. Will play MM two more times, with different characters, to get different endings.

LucasArts adventure games

Thanks to GOG donating Full Throttle and to the Winter sale discounts, I was able to finally complete my LucasArts adventure games collection. Now I want to play all the games, probably in chronological order, to start the year with that.
I have not played all of these games (and I won't be able to play Grim Fandango this time because it doesn't work with my Intel grahics card) so, I was wondering how would you rank the games, which ones are your favorites, what do you liike and/or hate about them.
Here I rank them from most to least liked:
1. Maniac Mansion. This is not just my favorite of the bunch, but one of my all time favorite games ever. It was the game that started my love for point and click adventure games. My favorite version is the Commodore 64 one, followed by the LucasFan remake.
2. The Secret of Monkey Island. I love this game almost as much as Maniac Mansion, but since I was older when I played it there's less nostalgia attached to it. I think this is arguably the best adventure game the company made, certainly the most influential.
3. Monkey I...

I love Maniac Mansion!

Ok, so this is the first topic in this forum and I wanted to show my appreciation for this game.
I think the first time I saw Maniac Mansion was at my neighbors place, he had a PC with a CGA monitor, so we played it in 4 colors. Then my father got the game for our Commodore 64 and it became my favorite game. I would play it all the time, I would restart the game over and over just to listen to the intro music.
This was the first adventure game I completed, I didn't know it had several endings and I thought it was impossible to complete without Bernard. It was many years later, thanks to the Internet and following a walkthrough, that I was able to see the other endings.
When I saw Zak McKracken I was so happy there was actually another game that looked like Maniac Mansion, I don't even think I was aware it was the same company. I didn't know about the first Indy adventure game, so the next one I ever saw was Monkey Island and again I was so happy to see yet another game in this style, after that I became a fan for life of LucasArts adventure games.
MM and Zak helped me to learn English (my mother tongue is Spanish), as I played both games using a dictionary and asking my father to translate, lol.
I play this game at least once a year (last time I playe...
