I cannot even make this sh*t up.....now kids/etc are POURING BOILING WATER on other people(or having them drink it through straws) as part of a new "challenge" posted online.

Regardless of whether or not this was started as a trolling attempt, people are falling for it & injuring others as a result....ffs I thought kids/teens these days were part of the "enlightened generation" and loads wiser than those who came before....guess I was partially wrong. ==========
First the licking challenge and the tide pods/etc challenges, and now this nonsense....when will it end? :\

So what do you guys&gals think about all these "challenges" popping up and people falling for them? Are people that dumb or do they just ignore the potential danger to get attention?

Any thoughts you people have on the matter are welcome.

Imo anyone who does this or that picking trend(especially the trends that harm others) should be put on a watch list of some sort.

Yeah, a prison wardens watch list. At least with those where it is legally possible.

Ugh, fine.

Might I ask where the heck you're finding this crap?

Well maybe for those with a few crimes under their belt(so to speak) or a history of such behavior...otherwise it'd just be another strain on the prison overcrowding problem.

I'd much prefer they get help(mental/etc) and do public works to pay off the harm caused, and perhaps financial reparations to those they harm if they have an income.

If I told everyone it'd likely taint the initial outlook on the topic, and it has no bearing on this as the news comes from a good source(the article linked above).

(Also why does it matter where I found out about it? Only the article linked and it's credibility should matter, right? :|)

Let's say for short that it comes from certain sites people seem to dislike here with a passion(where I found out about it initially, that is). The article is from a good source, though, and was checked before I posted the thread.
=======================
An aside in general: In case anyone is or was curious I get most of my news ideas from yahoo and youtube, and also some sites as mentioned above. I try to get verified links./info first before posting, though.

Lock them up. Nothing else to say really.
Pouring boiling water over other people is a crime, we call it "Körperverletzung" in Germany. Sorry, don`t know the right english word for that.

Interesting info.....so is it/was it a big thing there that they had to make a crime/term for it or was it just added to the books along with other crimes that people might do? Thanks for any future info.

Nope, there`s no law especially for pouring hot water over people. But pouring boiling water injures/wounds people and it`s a crime to harm/wound/injure people. Isn`t that like that in the US too? I can`t believe that it should be allowed to injure/wound people in the US.

It is not allowed here as well, I was just curious if there was a specific crime in germany for that(Pouring water on people that is boiling).
Posting, crap like this is only advertising it more and it's hardly the stuff that...Gog or anyone else needs to see and TBH is worse than political discussions and they are banned.

Aren't you a little late to the party? Most news about this topic are from 2017 and summer 2018. And probably it wasn't really a big thing, but just some stupid people and clickbait media blowing the "trend" completely out of proportion.

I work with kids for 20 years now and I've never heard anyone even talk about hot water challenge.
