edit: Holy f*cking sh*t they've got Battletech! Any recommendations? Honestly asking. I loved the 80's Battletech cartoon, and played the tabletop wargame back in the day. Which is most faithful? HOLY SHITE DUDE. Mechwarrior tried to be Battletech, but Battletech was a beast of it's own.

Mechwarrior is Battletech. It's deeply connected with the story and lore and existed for pretty much just as long as the Battletech Videogames. But yes, Battletech videogames are obviously more faithful to the boardgames.
