Bumping to avoid the archiving process. There's some good info in this thread.

Shit I gotta bump my favorite threads if thats the case.
Oh ffs, it's not like these old threads will not be accesible anymore, is it?

No, but in some cases, reopening the discussion may be worthwile. I'm not bumping any old thread I find interesting, only those that have useful info which might fruitfully still be discussed. I have plenty of old threads in my favourites I wouldn't bother bumping, because they deal with things where no new info could conceivably arise.

Yeah, and the fact that you have to necro these threads at all shows how probable this "might" is... ;)

Well, if you had read this thread you might have noticed that it was started in 2010, then picked up again in 2013, at which time redrain85 posted about a troubleshooting guide he'd written for the mod in question. That is relevant new information, which couldn't have been added to the thread if it had been locked back then.

So you're gonna necro a bunch of threads because someone in a couple of years may add something to one of them. Just in case.

BTW, when word "probable" changed its meaning to "impossible"?

When they contain information relevant to the running of old games, yes. As the years go by and new OS'es, new emulators, etc. appear, this is information that is likely to be useful and likely to be added to.

And probable and possible certainly have different meanings, but when you speak of the improbability of new information being added to old threads years down the line, and you do so in a thread where this is exactly what happened, it doesn't actually scream "so improbable as to be negligible", does it?

Given time and numerous users, somebody could find something to add to any topic at any time, no mater how significant or insignificant it would be. But it doesn't mean that we should suddenly start to necro everything we found interesting or useful to prevent very old threads from being effectively closed. To me the convenience of not having to open series of necroed topics with no new usefull information whatsoever outweights the possibility to keep them open for the sake of their continuity at some future time. Hence my irritated remark after seeing yet another of them.
Perhaps I can add some new information to help justify necroing the topic? You'll all have to be the judge of whether or not what I'm adding, is worthwhile new info. :)

So, as most know by now, TRON 2.0 has become available on Steam. I was completely taken aback when I found out. I wasn't expecting it to return for sale, any time soon. And, if anything, I expected GOG to get it first. (I'm sure 2.0 will show up on GOG eventually.)

The Killer App Mod was updated several months ago, to improve compatibility with the Steam version of the game. I'll do the same for the (inevitable) GOG version, if it turns out to be necessary. It also fixed some bugs, and added a few features. The main one being, restored online Multiplayer.

With GOG using Galaxy to restore Multiplayer to many older games, I wonder what their plans will be for TRON 2.0 in that area. (If any.)

Since I can post links now, I'll point people to a sort of beginner's guide to modding TRON 2.0. It was written for the Steam version, but most of it still applies to the CD/DVD version. Again, if GOG releases 2.0, I'm sure a GOG-specific version will be written. There's also a link at the end of this beginner's guide, that leads to a more advanced troubleshooting page. (I co-wrote the beginner's guide, and wrote the advanced troubleshooting guide.)

Beginner's TRON 2.0 Modding Guide

Work still continues on the next major version of the Killer App Mod. The changelog for v1.2 is probably as long as all the previous versions, combined. I have several videos on my YouTube channel showing progress, but I guess one video in particular encapsulates the most significant changes.

Killer App Mod v1.2 Trailer 6

Basically, it's more bug fixes (both to the game and mod), better widescreen implementation, completely new weapons in both Multiplayer and Single Player (based on weapons added in the Xbox version), new MP powerups, etc. It will also add support for three new languages to the game (text only): Russian, Hungarian, and Czech. These are all fan-made translations that are being included. There may even be a fourth Dutch translation.

Okay, I think I've rambled on enough. :)
I've been waiting for GOG to get Tron 2.0 forever! It was a great FPS game! I thought it might show up on here soon since GOG got that LucasArts/Disney deal. But it's still not here...

Vote for it!
Yes over here.

Nothing like fighting the kernel's henchmen and shooting "scanner.exe" in the face.
Did anybody use gamepad there? I tried to set up two ones and have frustrated. Even no possible action for gamepad in the settings of the game. Any ideas?
