The "new and improived" site design looks like total a___.

A top banner, occupying 90% of screen estate with NOTHING? Excellent job! Dear GOG design team, if you wanted to send a message, that people without 4K screens aren't welcome here, you have accomplished that very well.

And did anyone mention the greatly improved screenshot gallery? The old one was a clunky Javascript-based mess. The new one does not even show up without Javascript, and it no longer can be scrolled by mouse at all. That's some *retro-design* for you! ("retro" as in "retrograde")

I also really like the way of thinking, that moves all unimportant stuff: ratings, user reivews etc. way below the REAL content — the "Buy now" button, system requirements and obnoxious "related games" advertisement (exactly in that order). Would it be possible to completely remove reviews from page? They don't really contribute to sales, and can even decrease them! Besides, increasingly more of GOG reviews are sponsored fluff, and why would anyone ever pay copywriters for that, when they can directly buy advertising from GOG Inc.?

In case anyone haven't detected sarcasm in above post, here is how one can improve a new site look: print contents of any game page on a roll of 2-mm thick draft paper. Roll it up. And shove it down the buttcrack of the person in charge of the designing this atrocity.
I'm not finding it that slow. There's definitely a bit longer load time to pull up the game page, but it's nowhere near more than 1 second for me, at least.

The speed is fine, but I don't like the tiny screenshots. You can click on them to englarge, but that wasn't necessary before. Also the huge banner is annoying and pointless.

Tallima: Searching for kingdom come: Deliverance didn't you'd the game at all, just dlc.
I searched this one after seeing your comment. It appears for me, but at the bottom of the search list: 11th position, after the 10 possible DLC choices.

The images are just waaay too large before clicking on them. Special the ones at the top of the page.

The old look had a more professional look and was easier to use. This has all the page areas too far spread out and you have to scroll and scroll to see it all. And the first thing you see when you come to the page of a game is nothing. You have to scroll down. There's just far too much of nothing spread out very thinly on a long long page :(

The huge floating price box at the top takes up lots of space but contains almost nothing. You used to be able to read all info you needed, but now you have to mouse over it to get a lil bit of extra info, which there is lots and lots of room for in the huge empty box.

And all this extra fancy stuff makes the page load much slower for me, so I have to wait longer to work harder to find out if this game is for me.

Please, it's never a good idea to update anything just to make it look fancy and nothing else. That will just frustrate those who visit. The only important things when designing a web page is this: easy to use, easy to understand, quick and smooth, getting a nice overview of all information (which you can't get anymore since it all is spread out all over the place now).

Also, I have to admit that if I had come across GOG for the first time looking like this I wouldn't have registered, and absolutely would not have used a credit card here. The look isn't really a "trustworthy store" kind of look, more a "might steal your info, send you lots of email spam, and not give you a game" kind of look.

Please don't leave it like this, it's very frustrating to use. I would really appreciate if you would continue to tweak it to become more professional-looking and not filled with so much emptiness.

Oh, I'm not so sure I like this setup at all. Not trying to offend anyone's feelings or not but I've been a client of GOG's for quite some time and seen them grow exponentially over the years. But this looks like a spaghetti mess to me. It's going to take most users a little time to get familiar with and I'm not so sure most are going to invest it in browsing and shopping for games when they can be playing them. We'll see I suppose. But the bottom line? No, I personally don't like the new setup. They've gone from completely simple to furiously confusing. Remember that old cliche' as to keep things simple?

Amen. No GOG Connect games. Horrible sales. Jesus christ this is sad if this is the 10 year anniversary imagine how bad the other sales will be.

ZMacZ: Sorry to say this, but what I just experienced on GOG.com
is just about the same thing as on Outlook.com..

A 'new and improved' version, which takes much longer to load, and even at times
doesn't even follow up on a click..

This is NOT good, and this is not GOG..

GOG is supposed to be and STAY a simple site that sells software..

No long load times, no bells no whistles...

or at least make the bells and whistles optional..

I liked the fact that when I click a picture it took less than 0.1 sec for me to get an enlargement.

Now it's 1-10-never seconds.

A simple description of the game shouldn't take 10 seconds..
It should take 1 second tops..
And that was what was, but not what is..

Really ???

If you guys oughta know by now, some people don't look for change...
Like me, faster is better, and that's just about the only better we like..
More bells and whistles ? No-effin-TY...

Plz, make the new thing go away, or make it part of the client..
Don't crap up ur site like so many others..

- unhappeh bunneh..
.
Some good points. They're already seeing voices of concern from seasoned clients already. It could become a tidal wave of dissatisfaction. Time will tell.

The summer and winter sales have always been fairly decent. They will give out free games and put GOG connect up at the same time.

I dislike new page layout. I use old screen as secondary with 5:4 ratio at 1280x1024 for gog galaxy to be able to play old games even without widescreen support. On this resolution old layout had all info about game and bundles at the top, new layout needs to be scrolled and scrolled to the bottom to see most important details. And why is the font got doubled? Also I have an issue with series (or bundles) - that block is not visible in gog galaxy, need to add it to cart to see actual content.

I wish we can keep old layout somewhere in settings. Now browsing store and checking games is tiresome to say at least.

not to mention coding bugs. "You may like these products" section shows 2 of games that already in my library. is it that hard to filter suggestions by user library? I can understand that gog rushed to introduce new layout at 10th anniversary but no testing at all? video or screenshot to cover all screen from top to bottom? have you tested it, gog?

Obviously not. Every change that they introduce seems to decrease usability. And they are leaking the number of owned games again.

Edit: On the other hand, they've managed to introduce some filters for the reviews. So there is something positive in this clustertruck.

It's good tradition on GOG that changes on the web site introduce more regressions than improvements.

Overall I like the new layout of the game pages, feels like there is more information available and easier to find what you need, the filters on the reviews are also nice with a lot of variety. Loading seems faster for me compared to the previous version.
