It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Just have to add my voice to the others regarding the dislike of the new design. GOG, I love you, I do. But if you think moving the news section to the very bottom of the front page is a great idea...I don't even know what to say. You want people to not be informed? Why on earth does "curated collections" get such top billing? I don't get it.

But thanks to many of you in this thread for the laughs!
I don't really have very strong feelings towards the redesign, one way or another, but I really don't get why they would put the most interesting part at the very bottom of the site. I'm even more likely to miss the "news" now that they try to hide it from me ...

I don't like it at all.
What was wrong with the old one?

I hate how the news are at the very bottom of the site now. I don't see a point in the "curated collections" (thought it was some sale, but nope, just lists games, most of which i already own) and where before you saw all games on sale on one screen, you now you click several times to scroll through them. Who thought that was a good idea?

Sadly, as with all re-designs (like the horrendous reddit re-design for example), the voice of the customers doesn't matter. The owners decide what is good and what isn't.

Since there are still no meaningful updates after two weeks in, I thought I'll drop another post. I'm not bothered about the design, it's mostly a matter of taste, not everyone has to agree.

On the other hand, I still can't understand why an online store would make it harder to find the things it sells. In my opinion, the store page grid only showing titles on hover and the lack of a list view are critical issues which should have been addressed on the first week of launch.

And of course, news hidden on the bottom without content defeats the purpose of the whole thing. It's as if a newspaper would print the daily headlines on the last inside page.

I have waited for quite a while before commenting on the new web "design" but I guess that by now I have to realize that all hopes for them (gog.com) turning back to their old or at least a more useful design are in vain. Whenever they do something stupid, it unfortunately takes more than just a little while before things (maybe) will be better or improved again.

For me the login function on the frontpage is gone (using somewhat modified versions of firefox and palemoon as browsers, with nasty add- and script blockers, etc. this may - at least be partly - be my own fault. Although before the redesign everything worked perfectly!). So I have to use
login.gog.com
for now.... OK, I can live with that. Although sometimes when the much hated captcha is not shown (probably because of my script blockers, but why bother at all with that sh*t?) and I get a message that I have not filled in the (not seen) captcha correctly I really just want to turn away for the day... no gog.com today...

After logging in I have to go to the general community page to see my user account on the top right of the browser to access my games library or other functions. On the front page I see only store - about - community - support. Then nothing... and after a while in the top right corner the shopping cart - which I will probably not use that often anymore because I will rarely bother to "browse" the new page for new games or even sales.

The design is not just outright ugly it is a complete mess. It's hard to find where things are now and on top of that they have included the horrible windows 8 tiles style that now has become so widley used in M$ programs, sorry, you have to call them "apps" these days, even though they are in the end still, ahem, well programs...

Somebody here asked if gog customers believe that the new website design will have a (negative) impact on sales. I am quite sure that it does and will do so! I used to come here almost every day or second day when I had a few minutes time to check updates in my games library and look for sales or new releases. Now I have to ask myself if it is worth my time to spend a few minutes logging in to gog.com and look at the mess the site has become...

By the way one of the best ways to see gog news now is - at least for me -this url which was posted in another thread

Linko90: A gentle reminder, and by gentle if you ignore it you can expect a temporary ban.

Fill your post with swear words is not allowed. Not only does it make your comments look like a rant, but it's not welcome. Nor is attacking users.

We're taking feedback on the new design in order to further improve it. However, make no mistake about it, this is not an invitation to rant and rave while throwing abuse and swear words around.
Others have responded far more eloquently than I have the inclination to, so here is my feedback: It's shit. Some applicable synonyms:

excrement

Gekko_Dekko: PS: and also, for some reason, ublock's element picker is broken now on this site, so I cant just remove these "INSTALL GALAXY NAO"/"SUBSCRIBE TO US ON FACEBOOK"/"SCROLL THE WHOLE SCREEN DOWN DUE TO TRAILERS IN HEADER" things :/
PPS: it was really hard to write this feedback and keep it civil. Plz send help
It's how the "new" engine for Firefox and Chrome work. Addons are disabled on startup, you have to wait a few minutes and reload the page, then it will work.
Or better (quoting from reddit, this is how I solved the problem on my secondary PC):
"Browsers do not wait for blockers to be ready before loading web pages at launch time. This may get solved eventually for Firefox as there is an open issue about this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1378459.

Some users report that changing experimental setting suspendTabsUntilReady to true helped."
I think there's a similar setting for Chrome but I don't remember how I found it.

On my main PC, I don't have this problem because I keep using an old version of Firefox (I think it's 47). Works much better overall, has a better interface (the "new" search bar is fucking horrible) and I don't need to go through hoops to make it work like I want.

Always in Russian before I login. No, I have not visited Russia during the time I have been a customer here.

MartiusR: BTW - I've taken a look on first appearance of GOG in GOG's history and I'm surprised how well was looking old "gray & green" mix. Simple, yet aesthethic. I'm sad that GOG went so long way in complete opposite direction.
This is why I said...

The new design is terrible. I need list view and the genre appearing or else Gog is dead for me. Thanks.

liquidBass: <trolling>This is what we get with the new-age (read Gen Z) programmers, designers, and all sorts of workers. Shit that don't make sense, except in their own heads. </trolling>
This is not trolling at all, this is the truth.

ShadowAngel.207: (like the horrendous reddit re-design for example),
I think I can help you... they have an option to keep using the old design, you just need to check a box in the setting.
And the day they take that away is the day I leave reddit.

maybe you're from a country that is supposed to be Russian (read soviet) influence in the past? I even see currencies USD and Russian Ruble while there's no chance to have bank account in Rubles in my country. If you also can see USD/RUB selection at the bottom of store page more likely gog counts you as Russian.

on languages in general. store page lacks selector for my language (and I believe for many other languages as well, as there's only few choices instead of full list). There's no way for me to look for games in my native language even knowing there is such games. Take Metro Redux, our Ukrainian title, it features fully voiced Ukrainian version but no means to see it or filter from store. Steam can do it. Is it hard for gog to add language selectors for all languages in their database? really?

I've lived with it for a while, and I just can't escape the feeling it's too busy.

Too much popping and spinning and scrolling, and I can't find things easily. I'm assuming it's done to cater to the "I only go online on my phone" crowd.

Of course, I still miss the UI two re-designs ago...
